Honestly, I’m not sure I get the hype. Sure, the branding is cute, but you can find pastries just as good as these all over Amsterdam. Between the high prices and the fact that it’s always packed (which makes the vibe anything but gezellig) it really just ends up being an average experience. It reminds me a lot of Pantopia in terms of quality, but Saint Jean, Grammes and Fort Negen continue to be the better choices in terms of hyped up pastry shops. Don’t get me wrong, the coffee and pastries were fine, but once you factor in the crowds and the price tag, I’m definitely not in any rush to go back.

Not sure why, but this plain croissant already makes me happy — you immediately feel that rich buttery taste and it’s just great. There are plenty of other desserts to explore too, and the coffee for here comes in a fun cup that at first looks like a takeaway one but is actually ceramic. Nice touch!

The place is nice, people nice too. The prices, in my opinion, are too much. Coffee was fine. The most I liked the cosmetics that they are using for hands, it’s amazing:)

Incredibly delicious pastries, the cream is indescribably delicious. The coffee is one of the best I've ever had. Friendly staff, I highly recommend it to everyone

We live just around the corner and come here almost every weekend that already says a lot. Et Claire is such a lovely place and honestly has one of the best pain au chocolat in Amsterdam. I’ve tried many coffee spots in the city, and if you’re really looking for excellent coffee (not just another Instagram hype place), this is one of the best you can get. They work with a La Marzocco machine, which really shows in the quality of the coffee. The staff is incredibly friendly the women working here are always welcoming and kind. We usually come with our dog, and everyone is always so nice and relaxed about it, which we really appreciate. A true neighborhood gem. Highly recommended 🤍☕🥐
