View on mapA local institution for straightforward steak in a no-nonsense setting. It is not subtle, but it is dependable and very Amsterdam in its practical approach.

Nice place for dinner with a view. The place was busy but it was possible to get a table for a larger group with no reservation. We had 2 babys in a pram and the person taking care of seating the guests did his best to accomodate us as the first table offered was not pratical (no space to put the pram/ in the service way) and gave us a better table where we bothered nobody with the prams. Service was super fast (great when you have babies) and always super tasty. Looking forward for our next visit!
I had biefstuk ossenhaas bali and sticky toffee, both were excellent. I loved the sauce on the biefstuk bali, it was a very delicious garlic sauce, and the sticky toffee was an amazing dessert, I tried it for the first time. I was lucky to find a table overlooking the canal, I definitely recommend it.
My go to place every time I come to Amsterdam; you know the quality is there every time in this Dutch chain. The Bali tenderloin is my favourite as it’s just slightly spicy and has a kick to it. Sweet potatoes fries and veggies as a side went well. If you don’t like mayo, make sure to tell them before as the fries come with a huge load. Bitterballen for starters for a classic Dutch specialty. Overall food is consistently great here. Service was ok, friendly staff but had to ask several times for more bread/drinks. Location of this particular restaurant is superb, perfect before/after taking the train; with a nice view on the large canal. I booked but I don’t think it was necessary.
Nice view and atmosphere, the sauce for the beef was taste and special. The portions a bit small. We ordered the Beef Tenderloin with medium rare however it was well done.
I visited Loetje Amsterdam Central and had a mixed experience. The food itself was okay, and the shrimp croquettes were definitely the highlight, really delicious and worth trying. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. One of the servers approached our table and told us off for having our water bottles out, and the tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since our original server had no issue with it. The wait time for food was also quite long; we waited over 20 minutes before anything arrived. What made me uncomfortable was the difference in how staff interacted with us compared to other tables. We noticed warm smiles and friendly service elsewhere, but our table didn’t receive the same treatment, which left us feeling a bit singled out. Overall, the food was decent, but the service and atmosphere didn’t match the standard we expected.
