A strong Indonesian option in a city where that cuisine matters. It is a good place to understand one of Amsterdam’s most important food traditions.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — A Warm, Flavor-Packed Indonesian Experience Sampurna delivered a truly memorable Indonesian dining experience—rich flavors, generous variety, and a cozy, intimate atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The table was a feast of textures and aromas. The satay skewers were beautifully glazed and deeply flavorful, paired with a rich peanut sauce that struck the perfect balance between sweet, savory, and slightly spicy. The nasi goreng was aromatic and well-seasoned, with layered flavors that felt authentic and comforting. The assortment of small sides and sambals added depth and excitement to every bite—each spoonful slightly different from the last. Everything felt abundant yet thoughtfully composed, showcasing quality ingredients and careful preparation. Dessert was equally impressive: crispy banana fritters (pisang goreng) with creamy ice cream and fresh strawberries were indulgent yet balanced. And the cendol was fantastic—cool coconut milk, soft green jelly strands, and palm sugar sweetness coming together beautifully. Refreshing, authentic, and the perfect way to end the meal. A special mention goes to Laura (German-Indonesian), who served us. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality elevated the entire evening. Service like that transforms a great meal into a true five-star experience. Final verdict: Sampurna combines bold Indonesian flavors, a cozy ambiance, heartfelt service, and memorable desserts. An easy five-star recommendation for anyone looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine in Amsterdam.
Dak rendang was deliciously flavored with deep, authentic spices. Unfortunately, the meat was a bit dry, which took away from the overall indulgence of the dish. The service is decent and feels a bit rushed. Reservations highly recommended
Amazing indonesian restaurant here in Ams (i am indonesian & i can approved!!) The rijsttafel is amazing 10/10 they serve the rendang just to my liking (you can taste the spicy taste but not too spicy so it’s like perfect balance!!) andddd they also give you kerupuk with various sambal (and their sambal is AMAZINGGGG specially their sambal ijo… omg..) want to be back to try their bebek for sure! ♥️ & the place is warm nice and supeeeerr comfy too!
I love the authenticity of this Indonesian restaurant. Food is on the sweet side possibly to suit European or non Asian palate. Nevertheless food was good
This restaurant is the perfect choice when you've had European food for days and your Indonesian taste buds crave something local. So, I dropped by here. I tried the gado-gado and it was a great choice. It met my expectations and satisfied my longing for Indonesian cuisine. The staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who miss Indonesian food or want to try it. A perfect stop to have lunch after exploring the city. In front of the restaurant is also a perfect place to enjoy the flower market.
