Celebrating my birthday at Caelis was nothing short of extraordinary. This is the kind of restaurant that reminds you dining can be an art form. As a creative restaurant, the dishes are naturally smaller in size, but that is entirely the point — each plate is designed to showcase the chef’s vision, technique, and flair in a way that feels intentional and unforgettable. Caelis leans heavily into French flavors and cuisine, and it does so beautifully. Every single dish was exceptionally executed, with each flavor feeling precise, balanced, and deeply considered. Nothing felt random; every element on the plate had a purpose. One dessert in particular completely amazed me — I could taste every single layer individually, yet they all came together in perfect harmony. I have never experienced anything like that before, and it was easily one of the most memorable desserts I have ever had. The service elevated the evening even further. Our waitresses were attentive, kind, and effortlessly polished, making the entire experience feel seamless and special from beginning to end. There was a level of care and warmth that made this birthday dinner feel even more unforgettable. Caelis was not just a meal, but an experience — elegant, creative, and executed with remarkable precision. It was an incredibly special place to celebrate, and without question one of the most memorable birthday dinners I have ever had.

Really mediocre experience. Service is haotic, open kitchen is a mess with beeping noises all the time, food is basically little cold bites, almost no real cooking. A lot of room for improvement, hope they'll shuffle the concept radically. You can easily have far better experience in the region for half the price.

Caelis offers a memorable dining experience with three distinct tasting menus: an extended version of around 20 items, a more condensed 15-course menu, and a vegetarian menu of the same length. The creativity and ambition are evident throughout the courses, though some dishes shined brighter than others. The highlights of the evening were without question the tuna belly and vermouth bombón—both refined, flavorful, and absolutely show-stopping. The veal and potatoes from the main courses were also excellent. On the other hand, some items missed the mark: the pâté from the appetizers lacked depth, and the grilled red mullet had an overly strong fishiness that detracted from the experience. Desserts ended the night on a high note. The cheese selection was well-curated, and the petit fours were delightful, but the standout was the chocolate dessert—a brilliant play with liquid nitrogen that created chocolate crumbles, both fun and delicious. Service was impeccable overall, with an attentive sommelier who guided us toward excellent wine pairings. The staff was professional and welcoming, though the pacing of courses was inconsistent—sometimes dishes arrived too close together, other times the gaps felt a bit too long. For a one-star Michelin restaurant, Caelis delivers very good food and a polished experience, but not every dish reached the same level of excellence. Still, it’s a worthwhile stop for a special night in Barcelona, with small improvements that could make it truly outstanding.

We chose the Earth and Sea menu (125€) and as it was a special occasion also treated ourselves to the wine pairing (85€). Everything was tasty and worth the wait. However 45mins till we started the experience was certainly a wait. The somelier was excellent, as was the wine. The waitress service was ok, functional and going through the motions rather than enjoying her job it felt. Recommended for a special occasion or a real treat.

We had an amazing time at Caelis! The food and the presentation was excellent. The wine pairing was complementing all of the dishes very well, and I liked how most of it was from Spain. Service was professional and very nice. When we asked for a picture we were invited to have one together with the chef, and when we looked we were surprised by another most welcome and funny picture of one of the staff. Overall a great night!
