If you don’t make it here, you have absolutely missed out. We went a bit before 7 and there was a line outside. We made it in for standing room at the bar, which I think was a better experience than a table! The bartenders were super friendly and eager to help us choose our meal. We started with two glasses of their house-made sparkling with many more to follow. We had an assortment of plates with the standouts being the tuna belly with leeks, smoked sardines, and white asparagus tips. However, everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere inside is captivating and really transports you. I would go again and again.
I’ve been coming here once a week for several months this year! They make you feel like a local! Great vibrant atmosphere with a staff that cares and creates joy and fun. The food is always great, or as I say…DAMNTasty!! From the Gildas, Anchovies and Montaditos to the freshly prepared seafood dishes you can’t go wrong. I love the Truita de bacallá (codfish omelette) and the Caragols (escargot simmered in a beef Bourguignon sauce)! I always get the anchovies as well as the Grilled Iberico Pork with Padron Peppers. It’s hard to choose between their seafood dishes so I usually get more than one! The calamari is to die for and their octopus is tender and delicious! Don’t skip on the razor clams which are fresh and seasoned simply but perfectly! The shrimp in garlic butter are finger licking good!! I will always have a glass of Vermouth or their namesake drink ‘El Xampanyet’!! Expect a queue but they process it quickly!
Great experience standing at the counter! The servers were so friendly and helpful, and gave great recommendations for food. The house xampanyet is the perfect accompaniment to the tapas. Highly recommend the ventresca de bonito (tuna belly), cargols (snails), and Iberian pork. The line outsides moves regularly, and it's worth the wait. Take the standing room at the counter if it's offered!
A truly authentic experience. Even though we waited for more than an hour, it was absolutely worth it. The tapas are delicious, fresh, and true to tradition. The staff is very welcoming and helpful throughout the visit. The restaurant itself is quite small, which likely explains the long wait. It’s also kid-friendly. Our son even got to ring the bell on the way out, which he loved.
This charming, quaint restaurant absolutely lived up to the rave reviews! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Every tapa we tried was bursting with flavor. You can really taste the quality in each bite. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better with their welcoming energy. Even if there’s a wait, it is completely worth it. We’ll definitely be back!
