I absolutely love this artist. He is a Legend. I spent the day inside the museum. The art work is so profound and inspiring. I created 21 paintings while visiting.
For every art lover, this is one of the must-visit places in Barcelona. Although small, the museum offers an interesting collection of works by Tàpies.
The Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona is housed in a building designed by Montaner, with the steel wire sculpture on the roof created by Tàpies himself. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The library upstairs has a charming, vintage feel and is quite unique. While I’m personally not a big fan of modern art, the building itself is impressive. This place is definitely worth a visit for fans of Antoni Tàpies and modern art enthusiasts.
Insanely good gallery, 100% worth the admission with some truly mind provoking pieces. It's not big, but definitely stands out among most of the other art places in Barcelona.
Ridiculous! Arrived at 14:00 with closing at 15:00. Fine, no problem. Small museum with two small exhibits. No Tapies art shown at all.(between exhibits). Okay, fine. At 14:40, with 20 minutes until closing attempted to go to the terrace for five minutes. It was all locked up! Ran into the Security Guard and asked, he said it was closed. REALLY? Twenty minutes before closing? Asked another staff member and she said it still should be open. At the front desk, I said we were disappointed that even still with 15 minutes until closing that we couldn't see the terrace for five minutes. The receptionists shrugged and said come back another time! Really for 5 minutes on the terrace? Come on! Security guard returned and also clearly DID NOT CARE! For the price we saw no Tapias work (perhaps understandable if between exhibits) and were not allowed access to part of the the museum which we had paid for because Security wants to go home? Where is the Management? Ridiculous!
