Tapeo is a solid tapas spot in Barcelona with some creative menu items, even if it does get a lot of hype. I ordered the Iber-burger, which comes topped with ham and a heavy layer of truffled mayonnaise. It’s a rich combination, and the ham adds a nice savory, salty element to the burger. I also tried the Iberian pork ribs with honey and mustard. They have a nice sticky glaze and the meat was quite tender and flavorful. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. It’s worth a visit if you're in the area and want some good, modern tapas.

Located in the La Ribera neighborhood, Tapeo was a Yelp find. Smaller and cozy with a few Bar seats and some high top tables. Also, a small area for bigger groups in the back. We grabbed the only table open when we arrived at 1 on a Monday afternoon. We saw a Cava Sangria (a first) and had to try-light and delicious! They also had Majou Beer (from Malaga) on draft which is hard to find outside of Malaga so had to have one. We ordered a couple of starters and a couple of what I’d say were bigger plates. The pork belly marinated in lime was tasty but the fresh Mackerel stole the show! The Truffled eggs with foie and mushrooms was finished table-side and was amazing. We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. Tapeo reminds me of some of the regional restaurants where you want to try the entire menu at once cause it all looks so good. Tapeo is now on the list of “must stops” when in Barcelona!

We had planned to eat at El Xampanyet across the street, but the queue was too long. A quick search led us to this nearby spot instead. The restaurant was busy, but we managed to get a table when a group left. As we didn’t have a reservation, we were told we needed to finish by 2:30pm. The space is small, dim, but cosy. Service was fast and efficient. We ordered fried anchovies, tomato bread, honey pork ribs, and beef. The anchovies were crisp and fresh, the tomato bread well-balanced, the ribs nicely glazed with a sweet–savory finish, and the beef flavourful and well cooked. A very satisfying meal, our best in Barcelona so far.

Each dish was quite delicious. The steak was flavorful and well cooked. Patatas bravas were tasty with a good amount of sauce. It was my first time trying rabbit + snail and, though I was a bit squeamish, it did not disappoint. My boyfriend almost got another round he thought it was so good!

Strolled in here on weekday afternoon. Food was decent but on the smaller side. Dishes were tasty, I enjoyed the cuttlefish fideua and cod fritters the most. Nice atmosphere and I did not have to wait.
