Crizia was incredible. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere engulfs you, transporting you out of the busy city into a tranquil space. Crizia attention to details is unmatched. All aspects of the restaurant is perfectly curated from the dining room, to the kitchen, wine cellar, to the table flatware and food presentation. The staff worked seamlessly as a team servicing all diners ensuring they received thw most incredible experience. I had the four course tasting menu with a the mixed wine tasting. The in house sommelier was exacting in his pairing selections. During his explanations of each pairing you could feel his love for wine and Argentina. Many members of the staff are bilingual allowing non native speakers the opportunity to enjoy the dining experience to the fullest. Will definitely return.
Outstanding experience. We had the seafood tasting menu and it was exceptional: impeccable technique, creative flavor combinations, and top-quality product. Sophisticated, original, and perfectly executed. The atmosphere and service were equally excellent. Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires.
FOODIE’S TRAVEL FOR FOOD, always watching for culinary/gastronomic creativity that delights the eyes, the nose and of course, the palate… We searched out CRIZIA, a 50-Discovery restaurant, with high expectations….. BUT IT FAILS TO IMPRESS😑😑😑… Good food overall BUT quite unremarkably average. For an EXPENSIVE TASTING MENU, it DOES NOT MEASURE UP to similar 50-Discovery restaurants. 😑 flavors and textures are unexciting, they DO NOT arouse the palate. 🫤 there’s very little nose to main palate. 🫤🫤 🫤 🫤🫤THERE ARE SERIOUS FAUX PAS in 3 major courses 👎 Serving FRESH OYSTERS TOPPED WITH SAUCES, etc IS MONUMENTAL MISTAKE. Oysters MUST be served in its pristine state. One has to be able to taste the sea, to taste the waters they grow in!! For a restaurant that claims to have “discovered” the first oysters in Argentina, THEY DESTROY THE FRESHNESS AND SIMPLICITY OF THE OYSTERS… 👎 The PATAGONIAN LAMB FAILS to highlight the favor and texture of the lamb. The serving of 2 very tiny pieces crumble with a slice of the knife. ALL THAT ONE TASTES IS THE SAUCE OR MARINADE. This lamb dish has little aroma or fragrance of a meat dish! 👎 The Dessert titled “Imagination” is more of a question whether the chef had any imagination at all!!! It’s simple quenelle of UNREMARKABLE sorbet and slices of fruit. Then there’s a similarly UNIMAGINATIVE duo of chocolates. 🤗🤗🤗 A bright spot of the dinner is the WILD MUSHROOMS…complex yet delicate flavors and contrasting textures 🤗🤗🤗 Another bright spot is the SECRET OF THE OCEAN a lovely medley of seafood and fish roe, dominated by langostine. The sauces are silky and delicate. Service is good.
We randomly stumbled upon Crizia while looking for dinner, and were glad we did. The sweet bread and oysters were incredible. The sommelier recommended the perfect wines for our dinners. Great dinner, ambiance and service.
Our visit to Crizia revealed a beautiful space with truly impressive architecture and exquisite food presentation. The staff were pleasant and attentive However, the experience was mixed. While a few dishes were excellent, our entrees, unfortunately, didn't quite meet the high expectations set by the restaurant's reputation. They were good but lacked a truly exceptional finish. The wine service was somewhat disappointing. Seeking guidance, the staff seemed less experienced. They recommended a $200 bottle which, unfortunately, showed noticeable off-flavors (likely Brettanomyces). Combined with $35 cocktails, the value proposition felt strained. Crizia excels in ambiance and visual details, but the inconsistency in the main courses and the wine selection misstep made for a less outstanding evening than we'd hoped.
