My partner came for the steak and really enjoyed it. They give a very generous portion of bread and an empanada each for a very small cover charge ($1.5). The steak was a very generous portion for $40, could probably be shared with two people. The caprese salad was $8 and massive. I couldn't finish it. It wasn't the best caprese but for the price I wasn't complaining. I saw other people order the salad and that looked better. We arrived at 12.20 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. There was a steady stream of people arriving as we ate and the downstairs filled up by the time we left but people weren't queuing for seats. It was busy but not overrun. Service was friendly and efficient.
We were recommended this restaurant as being excellent food, with great value drinks. They were right. But it is very popular. We arrived at 7 (when it opened) on a Thursday night and by 8 it had queues out the door. You receive a complimentary juicy meat empanada each and a full bread basket. Our steak and sausage were excellent, to which we added a plate of fresh sliced tomatoes and a, frankly, huge plate of fries. The desserts looked great but my stomach could take no more . In summary, get yourself here for a great feed with a loaf of locals, and a few lucky tourists like me whichever been tipped off!
Waiter was rude and forgetful. I took a sip from my water bottle when sitting down and he made a big deal about it. As well, he never asked me how I wanted my steak done. When I pointed this out 5 minutes later and said I want it medium rare, he said ok. Guess what? It came out upper medium well. It was so dry and flavorless. Worst steak I have had in many years. Not to mention that it was very expensive.
Small neighbourhood restaurant. Avoid the western style cuts NY strip or ribeye. Not that they’re bad but the short rib steak, skirts steak and local cuts are amazing. Portions are huge. And the empanadas are good.
Good option if you don’t want to bleed money, fair prices in this place. Had the Milanese and kind as they were they didn’t try to sell you two mains, but recommend to share one main ( which indeed was sufficient). The empanada as a starter was good, funny staff and a good vibe. And the grill, my goodness the smell 🥰. I really wanted to skip one night of grilled meat, but I immediately doubted :)
