What a magical experience. Teatro Colon is absolutely beautiful. The architecture is top notch. We got a booth on the fourth floor, we would’ve preferred if we were one or two booths to the right for a better view. Regardless, we could relax our arms on the balcony and look down to see the full orchestra. 10/10 experience.
Excellent guided tour, just about one hour but covering the foyer, some of the beautiful salons, and the main concert hall. The excellent guide gave us lots of information about the history of the theatre, the "curse" of its first two architects, and the gorgeous materials used in its construction. We also managed to visit the Presidential balcony, and had a sneak peek of the stage preparations for an upcoming show. Great value for the money.
A true masterpiece and a must-see in Buenos Aires. Teatro Colón is breathtaking, from its grand architecture and ornate interiors to its world-class acoustics, often ranked among the best in the world. Whether you attend a performance or take a guided tour, the level of detail and craftsmanship is incredible. The surrounding area is central and easy to explore, close to Avenida 9 de Julio and other landmarks, making it a great stop while sightseeing. Even if you’re not an opera fan, the history and beauty of this place make it unforgettable.
Teatro Colon is a must when visiting Buenos Aires! From the moment you walk-in you can feel all the history and great performances that have occurred here. We were fortunate to get tickets for a sold out 7 pm performance of Astor Piazzola. This gorgeous theatre had 6 floors of balcony seating. The people in Buenos Aires know how get dressed up…Very Dapper. I told my wife I Feel like I am in Paris. Simply once in a lifetime experience.
Enjoyable experience doing a tour of the theatre. There was a sign in reception saying the main hall wasn't open. Thankfully I went to the ticket office to ask and they said the main hall was open all day, not sure why the sign wasn't taken down. The English speaking tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. Was great to see this beautiful opera house. Ticket was 30k, English speaking tours were every hour on the hour. You can pay by card.
