Reliable for a polished seafood dinner with broad appeal and strong waterfront positioning. It works when you want a nicer meal without drifting into overcomplicated tasting-menu territory.

Cruz, our server, was amazing. We were rushing to finish eating as we have an appointment in an hour. Cruz was attentive to our needs and ensured that our food comes out fast. The fish and chips were EXCELLENT! They taste as good as when we were in Australia. Will definitely recommend. Great food, service, and atmosphere.

My wife and son and I dined at Fred's for dinner. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were able to get seated at a lagoon view table and caught a beautiful sunset within the first 15 minutes of being seated. The service from our servers David and Eulogio was over the top. They took their time making recommendations and answering any questions we had. They made us feel welcome and we did not feel rushed at all even though we were visiting during a spring break week where pretty much every restaurant was filled and busy. My son has a food allergy that Fred's took very seriously and they navigated the whole evening correctly. The manager came to check on twice during our meal which was a nice touch. The whole staff from the host stand, to the servers and the manager all took time to make the experience wonderful. I don't mean to bury the lead, but food was as outstanding as the service. I went with the Seafood Paella (Paella di mare) and paired it with a Mezcal cocktail called the Whale. My wife went with the grouper and my son the miso glazed salmon. All were cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. We were so full we had to skip dessert, but their selection was very tempting. All in all it was an outstanding night out in Cancun. Thank you to the staff at Fred's for making this the best dinner we had in Cancun so far!

This restaurant will definitely give you an amazing experience! The first time I went, we didn’t have a reservation and the place was very busy, so we couldn’t get an outdoor table. We decided to make a reservation for the next day to celebrate my birthday — and I’m so glad we did! When we came back, the hostess welcomed us warmly and seated us at the best table in the restaurant — outside! The view was absolutely surreal and made the whole evening feel even more special. The food was AMAZING!!!! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The salmon tacos were incredible, and the tuna was out of this world! At the end of the night, they surprised me with a birthday dessert with a beautiful decorative touch to celebrate the occasion. It made the experience even more memorable. I also loved the drinks — I ordered an enchilada cocktail, and I’ve never had a better one! I truly loved this place and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

I had one of the best seafood meals here at this place. Originally I was headed to another restaurant and this one caught my eye. I'm very pleased with my experience and highly recommend this place for the amazing service & offerings that they have. The shrimp was perfect, the crab cakes tasty, and the lobster was cooked to perfection. Very cold wine and excellent espresso martini. This is a must visit.

This is a polished waterfront seafood restaurant that’s ideal for couples, foodies, and anyone who appreciates thoughtful design paired with very well executed coastal cuisine. What stands out immediately is how intentional the entire experience feels. From the warm wood tones and rope lighting to the open, airy layout overlooking the water, the space sets the tone before the food ever hits the table. Service pacing is calm, attentive, and professional without feeling overbearing. On this visit I had the mixed ceviche, butter grilled lobster, and the grilled sweet corn. The ceviche was extremely fresh with great texture and balance, topped with perfectly ripe avocado. The lobster was the star. Buttery, tender, and cooked exactly right with a generous garlic butter finish. Even the sweet corn side dish was memorable, rich, creamy, and unlike the typical afterthought you get at most places. A small area they could improve is menu guidance for first time guests. There are many excellent options and a few highlighted recommendations would make ordering easier. Parking and access are simple, and the overall value matches the quality of both the food and the environment. I would absolutely return and recommend Fred’s to anyone looking for a high quality seafood experience in Cancun with a great atmosphere to match. Claudia is an amazing server and the entire team was so hospitable.
