The place is amazing! The ambiance alone is worth a visit! Nicely decorated outdoor dining. The appetizers were fantastic as we're the drinks and service. The pasta bowl or cheese bread bowl lacked flavor, so it was only ok. The hawaiin pizza was decent but not the best I've tried. Despite the entrees just being ok, everything else was great. I would definitely recommend.
Food 7.5 or 8 out of 10. They started us off with bread topped with garlic and parsley/coriander and various sauces. This was delicious. Steak was flavourful and decent size. No complaints. The burger came with a piece of pork on top of the bun (pictured). One waitress suggested that it’s salmon. Our actual waitress confirmed its prosciutto. it wasn’t listed on the menu at all so beware. We requested it to be removed. I assume they replaced the buns only (pictured) and didn’t make a fresh burger but I could be wrong. The buns were slightly over-charred so there was a strong burning smell. Buns used are not the same as North American style burgers. La Fonda Brownie Not a big fan of the popcorn. Brownie and Ice cream were not as sweet as what we’re used to. This is a good thing. Not sure if it’s intentional or not. I wish the brownie was warmer and ice cream was colder. This would’ve been a great combo. Service Decent. Nothing to write home about. The restaurant was empty when we came so I expected better service - especially priced where they are. Waitress didn’t bring separate utensils for dessert but was suggestive of a tip. I guess this is the culture in Cancun. Ambiance Very nice decor and great ambiance. Overall A bit pricey but we were satisfied with our food. Likely wouldn’t come back.
The ambience is next level! I was in awe walking into this restaurant - they have done an amazing job decorating the space in a way that makes you feel you’re having a romantic dinner in the garden of jungle. Love all the mood lights, the vegetation, the hanging mason jars with flowers. Impeccable decor!! Food was pretty good too. I had the salmon which was very tasty. The only negative I have was the roasted corn / more like burnt to a crisp corn. We even asked if they could replace the corn and the second one was even more burnt! My husband had the shrimp fettuccine which he says was good. The service was also great - very attentive I’d highly recommend!
Amazing food! We had a cheeseburger and empanadas. Margaritas were so tasty. Cute bohemian-style surroundings. Nice relaxing music. Highly recommend!
The food touched my soul. The carpaccio melts on your tongue and the tuna is so delicious! We went 2 times during our stay in Cancun. I definitely recommend!
