I am a bit torn about what to write - there were pluses and minuses but overall, I don't think it's value for the money spent. I picked this hotel as a Bonvoy silver member and because of the location. The hotel is massive and has multiple pools as well as a lovely beach front. I booked a 1 bed room but got a glorified studio. Really disappointed. Things we enjoyed: our balcony, the in-room washer/dryer (with soap provided), the white sand beach and the location. The staff we encountered at the pool and beach were friendly and helpful. Shower was lovely too. Things we didn't enjoy: the bed is way too soft, breakfast buffet was lacking for us and geared toward American tastes (very little International options) with not the highest quality, beach/pool chairs at the front were all taken before 7.30am, even though no one was in them until much later. I also saw a film of something on the water in the pool twice in 5 days - I think a mixture of tanning lotion plus spilled drinks so the pool should be cleaned more regularly. The elevators are old and slow so we gave gave up and walked. No water given at all in the rooms which is shocking - this is standard in 3* hotels. It would be great if they offered free drinking water at the pool especially as it's so hot in the sun. A Marriott property in UAE offered still or sparkling water machine for free all day and that was the best amenity I have ever had at a pool. Also, better signage around the property - it's quite massive and easy to get lost. Finally, stop trying to get me to buy into the vacation club - we just wanted a holiday to relax.

This is our favourite resort in Mexico and well known as a gold standard for resorts on the strip. The staff and incredibly friendly, with faces we see year after year. The facilities and very clean and plentiful. The food and drinks are good but it is worth going off resort and trying the restaurants nearby as well.

We had a great time in Cancun. Westin Lagunamar hotel is amazing. The hotel itself, the staffs, the view, service snd cleanliness. I highly recommend this place. Though, 75 percent of the people are timeshare owners, they still have space for others to enjoy. Talking about service staff, shout out to Mike one of the one taking care of the luggage ls, he is very honest and good at his service. My husband's wallet was lost and found by Mike with money and everything in it! Muchos Gracias senior Mike! we will comeback again!

The Westin Lagunamar Cancun offers great rooms and very good service overall. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to stay in the main building to fully enjoy the best views. Also, the air conditioning units can be quite noisy in the rooms, and sound insulation is not perfect. If you have a family with kids next door, you will likely hear everything. That said, our overall stay was amazing. The pools are very nice, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean. Another big advantage is the location. There is a luxury shopping mall right next door, which makes for a great and easy walk during the day. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with a few minor drawbacks.

Overall a very nice and calm spot. The rooms are nice and well kept. A Bose sound system is great to catch the game or a movie. The pools are heated and large with a slide that the kids love. Activities are scattered about the resort to partake in. Convenient location to LA Isla across the street which has lots of shopping, restaurants, and an aquarium. The beach is red flag, but sand is soft and we had no problem wading in the crystal clear shallows.
