The place looks very nice, with a lot of character and a typical atmosphere. The staff were immediately attentive and ready to welcome us, even though it was quite busy. They seated us right away and took our order shortly after. Our waiter, Riccardo, was very kind and made us feel comfortable straight away. The food was delicious. Perhaps the table was a little small, but not excessively so.

This place completely changed my impression of German food. The dishes were outstanding. The Savoy cabbage cream soup was rich and full of flavor, with a slightly blue-cheese-like depth that I loved. The “Carrots bourgeoise” with meatballs was also excellent — simple but incredibly well executed. The mustard served on the side pairs perfectly with the meatballs and adds a great sharp kick. You should definitely try these dishes. The Kölsch here is also fantastic. It feels like the perfect balance between a lager and an ale (technically an ale), very smooth and easy to drink. I also liked the local style: they keep bringing you a new glass until you cover it with a coaster. I especially recommend this place to Japanese visitors — it’s something I’d really like more people from Japan to experience. Overall, a stunning experience. Highly recommended.

Peters Brauhaus is one of those spots that makes Cologne’s beer culture easy to understand. Great local food, fair prices, and excellent house Kölsch that keeps coming fresh to the table. The interior has loads of character and the whole place has a warm, lively atmosphere.

I visited just before Carnival on February 8 and the festive atmosphere was already noticeable. I was served quickly and did not wait at all. I ordered Minced pork with roll and onions and Halve Hahn (dutch cheese with roll, butter and onions). Both dishes tasted fresh and traditional. I had a few Kölsch beers and enjoyed a relaxed conversation with the waiter Almir, who is originally from Bihać. The place is close to the cathedral and popular with tourists, but it still feels authentic and not like a tourist trap. A classic Cologne Brauhaus experience with good food, good beer and friendly service.

Classic brauhaus, centrally located. Some cater more to tourists but this had plenty of locals and for good reason. Good hearty traditional dishes ie pork knuckle and the Peter’s kolsch 🍻 kept on coming. Very good service on a busy Friday night too.
