A truly fantastic experience! This famous pork chop bun has stayed true to its recipe for more than half a century, and you can immediately tell why it has stood the test of time. The pork chop was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, while the bun was fresh and wonderfully fragrant. Adding a little chili oil took it to another level—the aroma was incredible, and the slight spicy kick made every bite even more delicious and addictive. Authentic, delicious, and full of character. A must-try for anyone looking for a classic pork chop bun. Highly recommended!

There is definitely a hype, but trust me when I say this, don't trust social media too much, especially the influencers on YouTube, if you don't know this already. The Bifana is a simple sandwich, basically marinated in garlic, white wine and paprika, then the pork is simmered in the same sauce. Of course every spot has a little some some secret ingredients but mostly they taste about the same. It was the first place we tried, the pork was tender, the garlic flavor was strong, thera are whole pieces of garlic in there, put some mustard or hot oil on it, throw it in a bun, the Bifana is complete. Did I see any locals here? Nope, 90% tourists, and I mean people who doesn't speak Portuguese. The other 10% are probably from other parts of the country. What I learned after I went to a few other recommended Bifana joints recommended by the locals, just like the Nata, I realize the huge difference. The traditional Bifana pork should be thinly sliced , like Italian Beef in Chicago, the pork here is good but they are thick, but there is nothing wrong with it. What I didn't like about it is the bun or crusty roll, too dry. The flavor was simple, you can taste the ingredients. The traditional way should have the bun or the roll dipped in the sauce also, just like Italian Beef! Anyway, not bad but definitely not worth the hype because there is no wow factor. Don't forget cash only!

The bifana is super tasty, maybe even better without the cheese. The service was super quick; however, the fact that they only accept cash can be disappointing. Imagine taking a taxi there on our last day and realizing we couldn’t pay. It’s true there’s an ATM just across the street, but we didn’t have a physical card with us. Luckily, an Italian couple was kind enough to help us, and we managed to sort it out.

We stayed at a line of 40 people or so, but it takes about 5 minutes. Watch out for the ending hours, today a guy at 17.45 stopped people to line up. The sandwich was very good, pork meat was tender, the bun was thin. Watch out for the chili oil because is hot! 😅 Also the meat was hot but we manage to eat them.

Traditional and famous bifana shop. They mainly do bifanas (spicy pork sandwich), thats it, but they do them so well. Buy one with or without cheese (I like them with cheese) add mustard and chili oil enjoy with a cold beer- you are now enjoying a true tase of Lisbon.
