Prepare for a long story: take a deep breath! This fine dining experience belongs to the most complete sensory immersion I got by trying food and drinks around the globe. Situated in the city with so many options, Loco stands out for bringing the story of local products with amazing flavors combined and takes you on a journey you could not imagine. The vision of main chef and owner (who delivers the story for each bite) created great combination of molecular gastronomy with fine art and a meticulous attention to details that is nothing than extraordinary. We went for a date night and got premium, intimate atmosphere with no more than 20 people total and only couple of tables. Tables, uniforms of chef and staff, colors of the walls, furniture all go well with a taste and amazing choice. Wine was outstanding as the sommelier. Lighting is subtly dimmed, casting a warm glow over clean lines, and noise does not exist. Kitchen was like silent machine in the background creating magic. It was 14-15 multi-course tasting menu which is an absolute masterpiece of innovation. Art is short and insufficient word to describe these creations and you get to eat a lot. Order was amazing, time flew by. Every single dish left us speechless. This was my second Michelin star restaurant, however, I bet hard to beat after this experience. Well done! See you in the future!
Dining at LOCO was one of the most memorable meals I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. Chef Alexandre Silva has created something truly special in Lisbon — a Michelin-starred restaurant centered around a surprise tasting menu composed of a series of “moments,” each celebrating Portuguese ingredients in a creative and thoughtful way. The experience included around sixteen courses, and every single bite was exceptional. What stood out most were the incredible small bites at the beginning of the meal — a series of beautifully crafted, intricate courses served before the main proteins. Each one was thoughtful, creative, and absolutely delicious. What impressed me most was the consistency. Rather than one course outshining the others, every single plate felt equally refined and memorable. The precision, balance of flavors, and attention to detail were remarkable from beginning to end. The service made the evening even more special. The team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive — exceptional without being even slightly pretentious, which can sometimes happen at Michelin-starred restaurants. The atmosphere felt comfortable, relaxed, and intimate while still delivering a world-class dining experience. LOCO is the kind of restaurant you remember long after the experience ends. An unforgettable evening and an absolute must when dining in Lisbon.
We enjoyed our experience here so much. The 16 course tasting menu may seem like a lot, but portions are well thought out and they use acidity well enough to keep your taste palate fresh for the next one. The service was impeccable. I accidentally dropped my napkin, and someone came with a new within a couple of seconds. I bit one of the appetizers in half and some creamed spewed out. Then, the next dishes were all explained with how they suggest eating it. The attention to detail was amazing. We felt like we were getting two Michelin star value from a one star. There aren't many tables so the head chef has time to visit each and have some conversations. Speaking of the head chef, we caught a beautiful moment where he asked one of the chefs to come up to the front and he started teaching a technique with clarity & respect. You typically hear about this, but it was amazing to watch it live. So come here soon before they become even more famous!
It was nice experience. Not all dishes tasted Michelin quality, in my opinion. But overall impression is positive. The service was on good level. The stuff is really friendly and attentive. But I asked not to serve me half-raw meat, which was not taken into account when serving the dish.
An open kitchen and flawless taste. The attitude and etiquette of the chef and staff were perfectly befitting a Michelin starred establishment. Even the local taxi driver who brought us here said this was the best restaurant in Lisbon. The romantic atmosphere made my 10th wedding anniversary with my wife absolutely perfect. After all the courses were finished, the chef even specially prepared two additional, special courses to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It wasn't just about satisfying us with the food and ambiance; it was the chef's mindset that truly touched our hearts. It was a wonderful time. * 김치타코 뭐야. 너무 맛있어! (feat. 쉐프가 직접담근 김치)
