Returning to this restaurant in 2026, after my previous trips to Lisbon in 2016 and Porto in 2017, felt like reuniting with an old friend. Years ago, the space had a smaller, more intimate market-like atmosphere. Today, it has certainly grown in scale and comfort, but I was deeply relieved to find that their culinary standards have remained remarkably consistent over the past decade. We ordered a feast to recreate the memories of our past travels, and the quality of the ingredients spoke for itself. We started with two varieties of freshly shucked oysters—Sado and Gigas—which tasted like the pure ocean, alongside the wonderfully briny Percebes (gooseneck barnacles) and tender Lingueirão (razor clams). The highlight of the evening, however, was the Espinho shrimp (Camarão de Espinho). These small, vibrant red shrimp were packed with roe, incredibly sweet, and showcased the absolute pristine condition of the daily catch. We also ordered a whole Sapateira (brown crab), which was beautifully steamed and served perfectly chilled. Its shell was presented filled with a rich, creamy mixture made from the crab's natural tomalley and mayonnaise. Spreading this savory, cold paste over freshly toasted, warm bread (Pão Torrado) created a delightful contrast in both temperature and texture. I cannot quite recall if we had this exact dish during our past visits, but discovering (or perhaps rediscovering) it was an absolute joy. To complement the seafood, we shared a chilled bottle of Muralhas de Monção Vinho Verde. Its crisp, refreshing acidity cut through the richness of the shellfish beautifully. Finishing the meal with their signature lime tart (Tarte de Lima) instantly brought back the very citrusy flavors I remembered so fondly from years ago. It is a rare comfort to find a place that preserves both its exceptional quality and your cherished memories as the years go by. If my travels ever bring me back to Lisbon, this will undoubtedly remain a required stop on my itinerary.
We loved this place! The food was delicious, the service great and they speak Spanish thank God since I don't understand Portuguese and their English is not great! The place feels kinda American, like big and great. Love it! Will definitely return and totally recommend! Very price worthy 👌
We recently visited Marisco on Praça in Cascais, and honestly — it was one of the best seafood experiences we’ve had in Portugal. If you love seafood, this place is an absolute must. The variety is incredible — so many options that it’s hard to choose. Everything is clearly very fresh and perfectly prepared, not something that’s been sitting around. One of the highlights was their seafood soup. We ordered it just to try, but it ended up being enough for the whole family. A huge portion for only €5 — that’s unbelievable. And the taste… rich, deep, and full of real ocean flavor. The large seafood platter was another standout. Shrimp, mussels, different shellfish — everything cooked just right, juicy, flavorful, and not overloaded with spices so you can truly enjoy the natural taste. The oysters were excellent — super fresh, clean, beautifully served. Definitely on the level of a high-quality restaurant, not a tourist trap. The atmosphere is also great — lively but not overwhelming, feels like a genuine local spot rather than a typical tourist place. The service was fast, friendly, and respectful without being over the top. Honestly, this is one of those places you want to come back to and bring your friends. If you’re in Cascais — don’t miss it. It’s one of those rare spots where price, quality, and experience all come together perfectly. Highly recommended.
Spectacularly good seafood in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and stunningly good value compared to downtown restaurants in Cascais. Visited 3 years ago and had 3 dinners there, just repeated the delicious experience July 2025 and the seafood just as fresh and amazing and the staff as friendly and helpful. Unpretentious wonder.
Our last night in Portugal couldn't have ended better. Mara as our server was amazing. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. We had the razor clams, sapatia crab, prawns and limpets, and we can now go back home, satisfied with our culinary experience.
