We visited because it’s known for its traditional Portuguese dishes. The food was nice, though I’ve tried better before. The place was a bit noisy with a strong cooking smell, but the service was fine – polite and efficient. Overall, it was an okay experience, just not very memorable.
What’s this place? Heaven? Some of the best portuguese food I have tried in Lisbon. The “bifinhos al alhinho” and “chocos al alhinho” were the super stars and the musts.
Ze da Mouraria is truly a traditional 🇵🇹 cuisine delight. The quality remains extremely high 👌🏻 I haven’t been to this restaurant for more than 5 years and let me tell you standards remain where they need to be 🔝 The Cod and the Steaks, the stars of the menu ⭐️ were delicious and the service was fantastic 👏🏻 The portion sizes are extremely generous which is perfect for large group settings. 💯 will keep returning for years to come.
First of all the bread olive and cheese they have on the table are not free. We didn’t know that so we had to pay 10 euros more for them. If you don’t want to pay extra you have to say before that you don’t want them. The food portions are really big and thankfully our waiter warned us that half a portion would be enough for two people, and we ordered only half portion so be careful while ordering. The meat was very high quality and the sauce was also good and tasty. Fries are also coming with the meat and they were also really good, the salt on the fries was right amount and they were crispy. We also ordered a starter which we really liked. We tried pie, we could have not tried it. It was nothing special. For all the meal we payed 51 euros including drinks and desert which i believe is a really good price. Highly recommended.
Pretty bad experience. We were a group of two and ordered fish. As the price was very high, we asked if its a big portion and if we can order a portion for 2. He agreed and said the portion will be for 2 people as well as that the size is medium. Our food was at least for 4-5 people. After complaining the staff didnt understand or was offering anything and still said its a portion for 2-3 people. We had to take more than half of it for take away. The guys working there misled us to not lose any profit. It felt very bad to pay over 70€ for a huge amount of food that we couldnt finish. Also we got charged 2,50€ for the plastic boxes. The food was okay, nothing outstanding. Will not go there again for sure.
