The service was top tier. So attentive and friendly. Furthermore everyone here has a very gentle and positive attitude which I really much enjoyed. I tried their long day menu which was delicious. I think I would have enjoyed some of their other options more but liked the menu as a whole. I am also glad to have gotten this menu since it exposed me to their incredible peanut milk and fried chicken. The sauce on that was incredible too. And let’s end this by saying fantastic bao. The mix off of the sweat and savory was delicious. I will be back.
I have visited other branches of BAO and always enjoyed the food and service. This was my first time visiting the Soho branch and I had a good experience. I ordered the Classic Braised Pork Bao and Prawn Shia Song Bao and they were both delicious. Not only were the fillings tasty, but the buns themselves were cooked very well. The young lady who served me was very helpful and recommended the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea and despite the name, it was not too sweet. The service was very good and despite being very busy, I did not have to wait long for my food. The only thing I would bear in mind is this BAO is pretty small and all of the seating is at the counter or stools (chairs without backs). The staff were very kind and due to my disability they gave me a table so I could lean against the wall. I was able to be fairly comfortable during my meal, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Overall, I can definitely recommend this branch of BAO based on the food and service. I do recommend making a reservation, as it can be very busy.
What a wonderful lunch! The service was wonderful and all the staff was friendly and helpful. The kitchen was on top of it. The food was flavorful. Our waiter made great recommendations. Can’t wait to return to London and come back to Bao.
Here is the British English version, ready for Google Reviews: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent experience at Bao Soho. We were very warmly welcomed despite not having a reservation. We waited around 45 minutes, which was perfectly understandable given how busy it was, and were then seated at our table. Once seated, the service was quick and efficient. The baos were outstanding: the bread was of exceptional quality, beautifully soft and light. A word of warning for sensitive palates — the chilli is quite present — but the flavours remain well balanced, refined, and packed with a deep umami. Highly recommended.
Michelin Bib Gourmand for a reason. I’ve eaten here every time I’ve flown to London and I highly recommend this spot to everyone who visits. I found Bao on the Michelin Guide and after trying it the first time, I understand why they’re a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The staff is efficient, attentive and accommodating and the food is savory and delectable. Every time I’ve eaten here, the food has been delicious and as consistent as the first time I ate here. After trying every Bao on the menu, I can confidently say that you cannot go wrong with any of them. The Baos are fluffy and soft, and the proteins are all so flavorful, and tender. My personal favorites are the Classic Pork Bao and Fried Chicken Bao. Regarding the rice plates, I’ve only tried the Steak Rice with the cured egg yolk. This is only because this plate is amongst my favorite dishes I’ve had in London. The steak is always juicy and tender and the rice, perfectly seasoned and rich. All together with the cured egg yolk this is a perfect dish. Highly recommend this place andgetting a reservation here as the walk in queues can be quite long
