It’s busy, delicious and reasonably priced. This is the only kind of bagel I eat (everywhere else is a disappointment) and I always make a detour by Brick Lane to pay a visit when in East London. They worked so hard! They deserve the Harden’s certificate of achievement. They go straight to the point and are so efficient. There is always a queue but you will be served quickly. Be kind, brief and you will find they are very nice people but don’t slow down the queue! Do buy some plain bagels too, slice and freeze them on the same day. They will keep for days then my favourite toast them for breakfast: They are simply divine. Cheese cake slices, challah bread… it is a bakery they have so much more than bagels. Highly recommended.
I’m usually not a big fan of bagels, but this place genuinely surprised me. Tourist-famous spots are often overrated, yet this one really delivers — both in taste and value for money. The bagels are incredibly fresh; you can actually watch them preparing the next batch right in front of you, which makes a big difference. I’d recommend skipping the cheaper options like tuna and going straight for the classics — the salt beef or the salmon with cream cheese. Both were excellent. The salt beef is slightly pricier, but they give a very generous portion, which makes it worth it. The texture was perfect: chewy bagel, flavorful beef with a hint of salt, and just the right touch of mustard to balance everything. Really satisfying. Highly recommended if you’re a bagel fan — and honestly, even if you’re not. I wasn’t one before coming here, and I still loved it. No wonder they’ve stayed famous for so many years.
Stopped by the famous bagel shop on Brick Lane and it did not disappoint. We had the cream cheese and scallion bacon Everything Bagel, which tasted amazing as usual and absolutely worth the visit. We couldn't resist a cheeky jammy doughnut on the side too, which was the perfect sweet treat to finish. Always a great stop when we're in the area!
A very famous and consequently very busy shop, often with people waiting outside. Despite the crowd, the line moves quickly and you usually have your food ready to eat in about 10 minutes. I’m not an expert on beigel, so I can only give a simple opinion based on the one I tried here: the Salted Beef with Mustard. The meat was very flavorful and well-seasoned. The bread, however, felt slightly underbaked, while the mustard was extremely strong—perhaps a bit too overpowering, as it tended to dominate the overall flavor of the sandwich. One thing I really liked is that while you’re waiting in line you can see the preparation area and watch the staff making the bagels and assembling the sandwiches at the counter, which adds a nice authentic touch. Overall, it’s definitely worth trying, especially considering it’s also a historic spot in London.
This is a gem! The staff is super efficient so don’t get intimidated by a long line. Bagels are perfectly chewy and large. My favorite is the plain cream cheese and Salt beef with mustard. Everything is generously filled and the opening times make it a perfect start into the day before anything else is open. Definitely a must when in London.
