Celebrated our anniversary at Anajak Thai and it was such a special experience. The restaurant itself is small and quaint, which adds to its charm - but you absolutely need reservations. It was completely packed, and we felt fortunate to get seated. Also, be mindful of their limited opening hours when planning your visit. The customer service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and made excellent recommendations that truly elevated our meal. We started with Thai iced tea, which was good but nothing particularly memorable. However, the fried chicken was phenomenal - OMG. It was incredibly juicy, packed with flavor, and the portion was very generous. Easily one of the highlights of the night. The fish tacos were just okay, but the whole fish and fried rice were delicious. The rice had great flavor, though it could have used slightly less oil. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere, service, and standout dishes made it worth the hype. I would absolutely come back again and highly recommend it.

We made a reservation for 5:45 PM, and from the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ordered five dishes—fish, Larb Tod, southern-style chicken, and shrimp—and every dish was absolutely delicious. The highlight for us was the sauces that came with each dish; they were outstanding and really elevated the flavors. We truly loved the sauces and how well they paired with the food. We will definitely be coming back again. Parking can be a bit challenging, so spare some extra time to find street parking. Totally love it , tho.

At Anajak Thai, dinner stops feeling like a reservation and starts feeling like karma is on your side. This isn’t watered down Thai food dressed up for LA approval. It’s loud, deeply personal, and completely addictive. One minute you’re demolishing some of the crispiest Southern Thai fried chicken in the city, the next you’re sipping natural wine while someone nearby debates whether Michelin has fully caught on. There simply aren’t enough stars for Anajak. What makes Anajak special is that nothing feels performative, even though everything feels special. The room buzzes, the music lands, and dishes arrive with a beautiful sense of controlled chaos. Every plate feels like someone in the kitchen genuinely cared whether you remembered it tomorrow. Trust me, you will. The noodles have that glossy, wok-kissed perfection that ruins mediocre Thai food forever. The curries unfold in layers. The crudo delivers a jolt of bright acidity that wakes up your entire palate. Every flavor is turned all the way up without ever losing balance. What Justin Pichetrungsi has built is bigger than a great Thai restaurant. He transformed a decades old Valley institution into one of the most exciting dining rooms in America without sacrificing its soul. The perfect blend of old school and next generation, Anajak is the beating heart of LA’s dining scene. You leave full, overstimulated, slightly emotional, and already checking Resy for your next reservation.

I would say that it is good comparing for Thai foods in Los Angeles because there’s not much nice Thai food here. Their Thai Ice tea is the best ! People being recommended Southern Fried Chicken with sticky rice, I would say it is the best you can find here but comparing to the authentic one, it’s just average. I would say it’s just a regular fried chicken with sticky rice. The sauce can be made or brought in Asian supermarket. Pervian Scallop is recommended ! The sauce is basically Thai seafood but it is very well made by the Chef. As a Thai, we say that if the seafood is good or not, it’s all depends on the seafood sauce. Disappointed at sizzlin’ steak, the presentation is bad. No sauce coming with it. Feel like come straight out of supermarket steak and put it on the grill.

Remember to book a table in advance especially if you want indoor seating! We were seated pretty soon after our reservation time and the hostess was very friendly and helpful. Jose, our server, made sure that we understood the menu as well as any recommendations to try since it’s our first time at this restaurant. The fried chicken was definitely the highlight dish. It was perfectly made, seasoned and the meat was juicy and full of flavor. The taste was like a fusion of Thai and American flavors. Crab fried rice was also really good and gave a generous amount of crab! Jose was attentive and the busser was as well making sure our plates were cleared and always filling our waters. The service here really is top notch for a small restaurant! I will have to come back especially when mangoes are in season and they have the mango sticky rice for dessert!
