The food was excellent. I bought the cookbook. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and we were planning this dinner for months as we are not from the area but heard wonderful things about the restaurant. I was disappointed because we had planned to have the 7 course meal and were told there was no chef available to meet with us. So we just ordered the entrees. The mocktail was fine we really loved the lions mane steak the best. I had made the reservations and let the restaurant know it was our anniversary but one of the waiters told us they don’t do anything special for those occasions. I did see them bring a dessert with a candle for another couple so it may have been a special request. I would definitely recommend trying it out.
Most of the food was over the top delicious (white bean and escarole ravioli, bolognese, spinach and artichoke arancini, and the squash blossoms). There were a few items that could have been improved, including the spicy meatball pizza - the meatballs were very dry and the crust was floppy in the middle, the truffle potatoes needed more seasoning and the Caesar salad was overdressed. Nice atmosphere and staff were great. We will definitely be back.
The Carbonara was just okay. I was really expecting a lot more. But the sauce was wet, watery, and unseasoned. The noodles were thin and a little too hard. Didn't taste like they spent too much time in the sauce. I preferred the (spicy rigatoni) pasta my date ordered. The stuffed blossoms were great; proper ratio, texture, flavor, and stayed composed while you ate them. The cocktails were delicious and well balanced. The only thing I liked about the ceaser salad was the thinly shredded cheese on top. The fries with truffle oil had a great taste and I appreciated the fry cut. For dessert I got the banana pudding and the bananas were brown, and I was sad they tasted prepped in advance.
What a lovely evening we had at Crossroads. The service was great, from the moment we walked in the door. We ordered the stuffed zucchini blossoms and roasted parsnips to start. Those parsnips are easily the best I’ve ever had an arguably one of the best things on the menu. Served with espresso foam! WHAT?! We ordered the chicken parm with spicy rigatoni and the lions mane steak. Honestly, the steak was a bit too realistically for me, very fatty and it wasn’t my cup to tea, my wife, however, loved it! Some flakey salt or chives would’ve been nice to elevate the flavors a bit more. The chicken parm was such a nice comfort meal, just delicious! No notes. Lastly, we had a brownie sundae to end and it was perfect! Definitely worth a visit! Can’t wait to try more things on the menu!
I've heard about this restaurant for many years, however I had never taken the opportunity to go there until now. The restaurant is more upscale than I imagined. It reminds me of going to an old school Hollywood eatery, the only difference is that it's vegan. My favorite dish was the Truffle mushroom Bianca pizza, followed by the grilled lions mane steak. The desserts were spectacular. We had the strawberry cheesecake and the Brownie Sundae. The service was great, and the staff were friendly. I will come back to try their brunch menu in the near future.
