El Mago de las Fritas is one of those places that immediately makes you feel at home. The service was friendly, warm, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The frita was absolutely delicious and exactly what you hope for when craving this Cuban classic. The flavors were spot on. I also ordered the ajiaco, a traditional soup packed with different roots, vegetables, and meats. One spoonful instantly brought me back to home in Cuba, comforting, rich, and full of flavor. I also tried the chicharrón. While in the U.S. the term usually refers to the meatier portion of pork belly, in Cuba chicharrón is typically the crispy pork skin. That said, what they served was still fresh, flavorful, and very enjoyable. Overall, a great experience with authentic flavors and welcoming service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with our first time having Cuban food. The food was amazing! We tried a few different versions of the Frita and they were all delicious! The employees were so friendly and helpful explaining the different options to our party of six.

I went on a father-and-son outing this Saturday and stopped at this restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and invited to sit anywhere we liked. We chose the counter and immediately felt welcomed. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. She offered great suggestions and explained the daily specials, and every recommendation was spot on. She took our order perfectly and the food came out quickly, fresh, and excellently prepared. Not only her, but the entire staff was attentive, helpful, and genuinely pleasant. One moment that really stood out was after I finished my meal and ordered a cafecito. I stepped away briefly to wash my hands, and when I returned, she had thoughtfully placed a saucer over my coffee to keep it warm. That level of attention to detail truly impressed me. I also had the chance to speak with the owner, who was just as attentive and kind. I shared how much we enjoyed both the food and the service. The entire experience made us feel like we were eating at our grandparents’ home—full of warmth, happiness, and genuine family-style treatment. Highly recommended.
