My stop at the Piero Atchugarry Gallery during the 2025 opening was the unexpected moment of focus and genuine connection I needed. They're situated in the Design District, and the vibe they put out is always top-tier contemporary. You can count on them to feature brilliant Latin American artists, with a strong leaning toward sculpture and conceptual works. Think post-minimalism, where the art is all about form, texture, and the raw materials they use, it really makes you stop and think about what you're looking at. Their pieces often play with heavy contrasts, like polished steel next to rough stone, making the art feel both ancient and completely modern at the same time. Honestly, the biggest highlight wasn't even the stunning art, but the amazing opportunity to meet Piero Atchugarry himself. I was completely stoked to find him at the opening! Being able to chat with him in person, even just for a few minutes, and hear about his vision for the gallery and the visual concept behind the artists he selects was so clarifying. It's one thing to look at a sculpture; it’s another to get the backstory directly from the person curating the whole dialogue. That personal insight made all the difference, helping me truly appreciate the dynamic and thoughtful curation of the entire exhibition. It made the art stick in a way that reading a placard never could. If you’re serious about contemporary art, especially work that is pushing boundaries in material and form, Piero Atchugarry Gallery is a guaranteed art experience getaway! It was one of the most enriching part of my Art Basel experience.
Gerando Falcões hosted a fundraising event on 11/11/21 for 150 guests and we had an amazing experience working with the gallery team, who is very professional, organized and extremely easy to communicate. The event was a huge success!! We would definitely do it again and again!!
I absolutely love coming to see the new offerings and curated art exhibits presented here and this time it was no different. They are also part of the Progressive Art Brunch list of participating galleries which offers a "once a month" sunday opening to view the gallery space in a more leisurely fashion.
As an artist that has worked with the gallery I have only the best compliments to say. Piero leads an enthusiastic and professional team that helped me to put up one very important and difficult solo exhibition in a amazing space. As a visitor, definitely is my favorite gallery in Miami. They always showcase great art from around the world, taking risks that no one else do. It’s a MOST!
I've been following this gallery for years, it's of the most interesting and ambitious contemporary art galleries in my opinion. The shows are beautifully and thoughtfully curated. A must-visit if you're in Miami!
