A fun place to hang at but not sleep at. The rooms are tiny and not cozy. We couldn't control the thermostat. The toilet is literally next to the head of the bed. We couldn't hear the TV over the music which blasts until 2am(weekday)or 5am (weekend). Joseph was working the front desk and saved our vacation by moving us across the street to the sister location of Essex House which was perfect. He also was very welcoming and helpful with information. He made sure we were happy throughout our stay. Much less can be said about the guest services manager of the Clevelander who ignored us until he saw someone else helped us. Then, although guests of Essex have access to the clevelander, that manager had us escorted off the property and called it tresspassing.

The Clevelander is one of the most legendary spots on Ocean Drive. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a full South Beach experience with music, energy, and nonstop people-watching right in the heart of Miami Beach. The outdoor pool deck and bar area create a day-to-night party atmosphere, and the location is unbeatable — directly across from Lummus Park and the beach. You can literally step outside and walk straight to the sand. During the day it’s a great place to grab a drink and watch the beach crowd, and at night the entire area lights up with music, DJs, and the electric nightlife that made South Beach famous. If you want the true Ocean Drive vibe — music, palm trees, neon lights, and the ocean breeze all in one place — the Clevelander is one of the most iconic stops in Miami Beach. — Chris Raborg The Cyborg Project 🤖🌴🌊✨

Every time I walk into this place Renata is super welcoming and energetic. We come for the food and drinks. The food has never disappointed us and the drinks are even better. Would definitely recommend 10/10. The manager victor is amazing also. He’s always checking on the guest, meanwhile running the operation smoothly.

Don’t be catfished by the photos. The rooms are tiny. The luggage rack doesn’t even open comfortably. Our sink had no cold water so we only had scorching hot water. The faucet was loose and did not turn. It wasn’t dirty but it wasn’t clean. Perfect if you are in your early 20s and plan to cram 4 people into a room to cut costs and want to be in the nightlife scene. We called several times leading up to our stay and nobody ever answered. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was watching a show on her cell. She was very friendly once she finally let us into the lobby. The fire alarm went off several times for no apparent reason and the elevator worked every other time we needed it. Also, parking is $50 per day.

We loved our week long stay at the Clevelander. It was in a perfect location, and the staff was absolutely incredible! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the music at the bar was so much fun and everyone who works there was so helpful (especially Michelle and Godfrey). We would definitely come back!! 😊
