For a building made in the 1950s I was impressed that it still holds up. You can smell how old the building is when you walk in and sit down but it's charming. You and the artists are locked in this personal and intimate setting, it takes me back to a lot of the small shows I went to as a kid in SoCal. Pinkpantheress rocked the building and it was so beautiful to see everyone dancing and having a good time mid show. Her and Tame Impala in 2018 were by far my top 3 shows since I've been in Miami. I will definitely go back if they have another great artist.
I have been here more than 3 times and it's always a pleasure coming, full of parking near the area , very organized when you enter to the shows, clean bathrooms, always team members around to assist , and the scenario is close to the seats since is not a huge space. The only thing is that the drinks are a little bit too expensive !
GA Wristband policy is BS. If you know X amount of people fit in the GA standing then sell that many tickets to the space. Don’t sell infinite standing tickets and fill the standing room 2/3 of the way and force the rest of the people into seats. Not to mention the fluctuating drink prices throughout the night. Will be avoiding this venue indefinitely.
The former Jackie Gleason theater is well maintained and comfortable. Some seats have a partially obstructed view of the stage. Bars located on the sides of the theater has much smaller lines. Security to get in is likely necessary, but security was RUDE to spouses waiting for their partner to clear security. Either make a space for waiting spouses or stop yelling at them to go inside.
The venue is really misleading, their being a limit to GA even though the tickets don’t say that. Us being forced to go to the top and find seats even though we paid for GA is ridiculous and unfair. We have to compete with meet and greet, vip and fast lane tickets to try and get into GA. As a big fan of DGD I hope they see this and never go back to this venue.
