The legendary Surf Clubs restaurant doesn't disappoint, specially when it comes to the perfectly tailored service. The food was meticulously prepared, from the perfectly crispy potato chips, to the equally golden brown chicken. Also, the deviled eggs must not be skipped. The table side Caesar salad was just perfect, not too much dressing, not overpowering, and per recommendation of our server we paired it with the smoked bacon, which was sublime. It was a thic and buttery cut, that just melted in your mouth and honestly would have paired well with almost anything. The Lumache alla vodka was spicy and tasty. And the coconut chiffon cake was just a perfect ending to this culinary adventure. Recommend for anyone who doesn't mind the prices, and simple ideal for special occasions when you want everything to be just perfect.
Beautiful ambiance, definitely reserve the club room when making your reservation. The jumbo lump crab cake was delicious, as were the lobster thermidore and lamb chops. Everything however was a bit heavy-handed on the salt to be a bit distracting, but we enjoyed it all nonetheless. A great meal and we would return to try other things.
We have tried all of Thomas Keller's restaurants and ultimately everything turned out to be very good but never great. This is how I would describe the Surf Club. The menu consists of well known dishes but there are no surprises - everything is cooked well and tasty but not memorable. The best dish is the Ceasar's salad which is prepared table side, using raw eggs (!) and is a must-order simply for the show. Everything seemed to order it. The crab cakes were very good - crispy crust and big chunks of crab with a spicy mayo on the side - worth it. Lumache Alla Vodka was also good, with the pasta cooked just right and a nice spicy kick to the sauce. The almonds on the European Sea Bass made the fish - toasted and slightly caramelized paired with a very good sea bass. Get it if you are in the mood. The oysters Rockefeller are simply ok but not worth reordering. The chocolate layer cake was also very good but not extraordinary and typically of any good pastry shop's version. Finally the service is what you would expect of a Michelin Star, which was precise and well executed although our waiter has a pretty bland personality compared to the guy serving the table next to us.
Outstanding. Great vibe. Incredible staff. Delicious food. They were very very accommodating of food allergies. The whole aura was incredible. I went two nights in a row! Highly highly recommend. The truffle pasta was a bit of a sticker shock ($215 for 1 entre) but the homemade almond flower pasta and freshly shaved truffle was worth it.
SoulEdge: Synergy...Let Yourself Free Arrived late afternoon in Nov. Originally I was planning to dine at Lido (another restaurant in the same building, for that experience at Lido. Check my review SoulEdge: Nosedive Tailspin..) but since this restaurant is located closer. I decided to dine. Emily helped me with seating & menu. I felt uncomfortable with sitting next to the window on the main hallway that's beside the Bar, leading to the other dining room. Due too I'm trying to enjoy my dining experience, but so much back & forth movement. I ate Bucatini Pomodoro (good portion too) & Cheesecake. I dine the next day, arriving early. This time I asked for a better seat, thankfully it was available. Met Sebastian & Daniel, they gave good service. I ate Bucatini Pomodoro (with Fettuccine pasta) & Chocolate Soufflé with Pistachio ice cream. Good on the Appetizer with Lemon Dill sauce & famous Parker Rolls. I can hear the kitchen staff with good cadence. I've been told live music begins at 7 pm everyday. Kudos to everyone for the excellent service. Both visits dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend who looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show. Cue in the songs "The Lady In Red" by Chris de Burgh and "The Golden Age" by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. 🇺🇸🇩🇪🎸✌️🫡
