Beautiful mansion and gardens! Great setting for pictures too! Many rooms were under refurbishment when we visited so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the whole house. Nice change of pace from the beach when visiting the area. My phone camera lens had a ding on it so unfortunately the pics aren’t the greatest quality and don’t do the gardens enough justice!

Perhaps this is one of my favorite places in Miami. It feels like a little piece of Europe hidden in the middle of bright, vibrant Miami — a city that feels completely different from this place. I visit Villa Vizcaya at least a few times a month, and somehow I never get tired of it. It feels like every single time I fall in love with it all over again. The history here is rich, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful for a walk alone, with friends, or with family. I also really enjoy the café here. I usually get a delicious coffee and avocado toast with salmon, so don’t worry — you can always have a nice little meal while visiting. The entrance fee is also quite reasonable, which is приятно. As for the museum itself, I would recommend setting aside at least an hour for it. There are many rooms and so much to explore. Honestly, I can’t recommend one “best” time to visit because it always feels pleasantly balanced — never too crowded, always comfortable enough to walk around slowly and take everything in. You can come in the morning, during the day, or in the evening depending on the season. I truly recommend this place whether you are visiting Miami for the first time or you already live here and simply want to experience something beautiful and different.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens: A Tropical Gilded Age Escape If you want to feel like you’ve been transported to a 16th-century Italian estate without leaving Miami, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is the place to go. While the historic house is a marvel of architecture, the real gem of this property is the sprawling gardens and the lush, bayside scenery. The Highlights: Nature at Its Finest The estate is a masterclass in landscape design, blending European formal gardens with the wild beauty of the Florida hammock. The Flora & Fauna: The gardens are teeming with life. From the intricate maze-like hedges to the iguanas sunning themselves by the water, the biodiversity is stunning. The Orchid Collection: The vibrant colors and exotic varieties often overshadow the antique furniture inside the house—they are simply breathtaking. The "Vibe": This is arguably the most Instagrammable spot in Miami, and we saw many young couples taking advantage of the opportunity. You’ll be sharing the pathways with plenty of amateur and professional photographers, so be prepared for a bit of a crowd as everyone tries to get that perfect shot of the Stone Barge. Know Before You Go: Planning Tips To make the most of your visit, keep these logistical details in mind: Check for Closures: Because Vizcaya is a historic site constantly undergoing preservation (and dealing with the coastal elements), certain wings of the house or sections of the garden can be closed for restoration. Check their official website for "Impacted Areas" updates before you buy your ticket. Timing is Everything: While the gardens are beautiful year-round, visiting in late spring is a brilliant idea. When the gardens are in full bloom, the scent and color palette reach their peak. The Museum Interior: The house is filled with European antiquities, but it can feel a bit dark and humid compared to the vibrant gardens. If you aren't a massive history buff, you might find yourself rushing back outside to the greenery. The Verdict Vizcaya is a "must" for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. Even with some areas under construction and a healthy crowd of tourists, the serenity of the gardens and the elegance of the orchids make it a top-tier Miami experience. It’s an ideal spot for a slow, scenic afternoon.

This was a fun experience. Admissions was $20 per person. I enjoyed the scenery. There were lots of plants, including orchids and other flowers and there is also a botanical garden, lots of places to take cute pictures. I was not a fan of learning about the entire history of the place because there were a lot of rooms to see, but if you’re into that, then this is a great place for you. The restrooms were also very clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend for taking cute pics and it has beautiful views.

Visiting Vizcaya Museum and Gardens was one of the highlights of my trip to Miami. The architecture is absolutely stunning, with beautiful European-inspired details throughout the estate that make you feel like you've stepped into another era. The gardens are equally impressive, offering breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and plenty of peaceful spots to explore and take photos. Although some areas were under renovation during my visit, the reduced admission price felt fair and appreciated. Even with the ongoing work, there was more than enough to see and enjoy. I would highly recommend Vizcaya to anyone visiting Miami.
