I’m amazed by how far human civilization has evolved. Honestly better than all the three star Michelin restaurants I’ve been to. From the seating and tableware to the presentation, flavors, textures, drinks, and service, everything felt incredibly thoughtful and refined. My favorites were the first three appetizers, the sesame tofu, the sujebi, and the mugwort ice cream dessert. The progression of flavors was wonderful, and the drinks paired perfectly with the food, I especially loved the refreshing sour ones.
Truly a wonderful dining experience deserving of the world ranking and Michelin stars. The beautiful seafood heavy tasting menu, most of which included savory broth to enhance taste and smell of the dishes. Each drink pairing featuring unique infusions from fruits I have never heard of. The non dairy dessert to accommodate lactose issues. Chef and sommelier entertained the diners with stories and anecdotes while prepared the meal. Found out one of my favorite spots in Ktown New Wonjo is a regular crew hangout.
A modern, thoughtful interpretation of Korean cuisine, Atomix beautifully blends tradition with global influence. As the name suggests—“ato” meaning gift, and “mix” reflecting a fusion of cultures—every element feels intentional and inspired. The ambiance is exceptional: intimate, softly lit, and centered around just 14 counter seats, creating a truly immersive dining experience. Each course arrives with a beautifully illustrated card, telling the story behind the dish and its ingredients—an artistic touch that elevates the entire evening. My standout favorite was the kohlrabi with king crab and Kristal caviar: warm, slightly sweet, and luxuriously creamy, with the delicate brininess of the caviar melting seamlessly into the fresh, savory crab. Another highlight was the beakfish with green apple and sea grape—perfectly balanced, bright, and refreshing, leaving you wanting more. The lobster with a delicate foam sauce was equally memorable—refined and deeply satisfying. Dessert was a complete surprise. I typically gravitate toward savory flavors, but this was on another level. The passion fruit palate cleanser was one of the best I’ve ever had—vibrant and refreshing. It was followed by a bold combination of burdock ice cream, chocolate cake, and shaved black truffle. Unexpected, indulgent, and absolutely exquisite—even for someone who doesn’t usually enjoy chocolate. The entire 2.5-hour experience feels like a curated culinary art presentation. Every dish is not only beautifully plated but paired with a story, making it both personal and immersive. With only 14 seats at the chef’s counter, it’s no surprise that reservations are incredibly difficult to secure. A truly unforgettable experience from start to finish.
Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Value 3.5/5 Atomix is currently ranked as the #1 restaurant in North America and #12 in the world for 2025. After a long wait to secure a reservation, we finally experienced their intimate chef's table. At $1.1k for two, the cost is a major consideration, while it was a deeply memorable and intimate experience, I’m not certain the flavor to value ratio beats other top tier tasting menus like JUA and Jungsik. Tasting menu as of 12/2025: Pumpkin & Cinnamon Sikhye — 4.25/5 A warm, welcoming start. Sweet, comforting, and perfect for the holiday season. Horse Mackerel — 4.25/5 Solid execution with great crunch and texture Langoustine — 4.5/5 A mouthful of deliciousness. Slight earthy aroma, but the flavors worked well Fried Bun with Monkfish & Caviar — 4.75/5 Our favorite among the starters—rich, indulgent, and bursting with flavor Mains Yellowtail, Sweet Bean, Squash, Macadamia — 4.25/5 On its own, the yellowtail wasn’t standout, but paired with the squash, the dish completely transformed into a bold, flavorful bite Monkfish Liver — 4.25/5 Very rich and nourishing. Not the most exciting dish, but if you love foie gras, this would be an exceptional bite Kohlrabi & King Crab — 4.75/5 Luxurious and comforting. A great palate cleanser—reminded my husband of a childhood dish his grandparents used to make Abalone — 5/5 One of my favorites. I usually don’t enjoy abalone, but the texture and preparation here were flawless Golden Eye Snapper — 4.5/5 The snapper was lovely, but the real star was the perfectly cooked mussel Lobster — 5/5 My absolute fave of the night, and possibly one of the best lobsters I’ve ever had. Perfect texture, and the rice pairing was outstanding Lamb — 3/5 Our least favorite. Very gamey, including the lamb noodle soup that paired with this—may appeal to some, but not for us Passion Fruit Bingsoo — 5/5 Our absolute favorite dessert. The tartness from the passion fruit paired so so well with the Earl Grey–infused bingsoo, and the cream at the bottom tied everything together. We enjoyed every bite and honestly wanted more Rice Ice Cream — 4/5 This leaned into the savory-sweet profile they described, a more traditional dessert. Well executed, but not quite our personal taste preference. Second Date Drink — 4.75/5 Surprisingly refreshing and delicious. The makgeolli worked well, but the elderflower really stood out To end the experience, they send you home with customized chopsticks and postcards detailing each dish’s ingredients and story, a thoughtful and memorable touch.
Everything about Atomix was perfect except for one aspect. I wish they would've added a meat dish, because I wasn't full enough for the amount of money I was paying and it doesnt need to be Japanese wagyu. Since they're Korean I'm sure they could make a delicious galbi marinated meat dish and/or rice dish to help fill everyone's stomachs. They could've also added a little bit of a gastronomic touch whether it be through performance or at service that I think would've given them that slight edge to becoming a 3star. Aside from that, everything was amazing. The small bites, that mussel and banana foiegras dish, mind blowing. Cocktails great. The service and the personalized chopsticks were a fantastic touch. Atomix was just a hair off perfection for me but i still personally enjoyed it.
