Came here for brunch with friends on a Saturday. The host was super sweet and seated us early, which allowed us to get settled and even order a drink. Food and cocktails were great! Definitely recommend the avocado toast, but it’s a normal portion size (not an overwhelming one) but if you have a bigger appetite, definitely get an appetizer. I did, just a scone with jam and clotted cream - but no photo because ate it in 4 swift bites! Still, recommend both. Also, big kudos on the Rhubarb Spritz. Service was great from the server, he had a great memory and brought a calming energy to the table. He checked in on us regularly, along with another colleague, which was fantastic. All in all, a great experience with them. The only criticism I have is that the cocktails took, on average, about 25 minutes to get, which was disappointing. I’m not sure if they were short-staffed at the bar, but we definitely would’ve had more drinks if they were coming more timely. Still, I would definitely recommend this spot, just on the understanding that ~2 cocktails in the timeframe you’re there may have to be continued at another bar in the area.
Wonderful, attentive service and top-quality food across the board. Oysters first — magnificent. The fish was excellent, the steak outstanding, the soup delightful, and the mushroom risotto cooked to perfection. We dined as a family of four, with our two daughters. The quality and balance of the dishes stood out — superb produce, very much in the vein of European ingredients and cooking. The interior is equally lovely. Booking can be a challenge — we were fortunate walk-ins. Thank you for keeping a table for the unplanned; it was much appreciated.
I love this place! The cocktail menu is fabulous. I got a Negroni Bianco. So good. My group was eating at 10:30 PM so ate light and were impressed by the numerous options that wouldn’t weigh you down before bedtime. I had a delicious salad with arugula and smoked trout. My vegetarian daughter had a cauliflower dish along with some grilled pumpkin. Another had a burrata appetizer and one ordered the cheeseburger. That cheeseburger was more than she could consume. All of the cocktails were well balanced. One was enough. I’ll be back. Great vibe! Ram, our waiter, was terrific and the staff worked well as a team.
Dante is one of those places that truly captures the magic of New York dining — stylish but relaxed, lively yet intimate. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the hum of good energy, the clink of glasses, and that unmistakable Italian warmth. The cocktails are perfection — balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. (Their Negroni variations are a must-try!) The food is equally impressive: simple, fresh ingredients elevated with care. I especially loved the burrata and pasta — every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the team made the experience feel genuinely personal. Whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon spritz, a date night, or brunch with friends, Dante never disappoints. A true NYC classic that lives up to the hype — timeless, vibrant, and always worth a visit.
Late entry here but my friend group and I had one of the best nights of our lives at Dante! We added it to our trip itinerary based on its reputation and we were not disappointed. The boys loved the Negroni flights and the girls loved everything. Our waiter, William, approached my husband and helped to coordinate an iconic prank that will be a lifelong memory for my friends and I-i won’t share the details in case he can get another group with this same hilarious trick. William also provided incredible recommendations for both newbies and cocktail experts in the group. The bread and butter were a must 5 star, rest of the food is a 4 but you’re there for the main course anyway-the cocktails. Was not surprised when my local friends in NY said Dante’s is a favorite and a right of passage for anyone new to NYC. HIGHLY recommend.
