An Extremely Terrible Experience—Subjected to Unprovoked and Violent Removal by Security Staff On the evening of May 22, 2026, I visited Timmy’s—yet I spent less than an hour inside the venue! I endured an absolutely appalling and outrageous experience at Marquee NYC. As a paying customer, I conducted myself with complete propriety and courtesy throughout my time at the club. At the time, I simply needed to use the restroom while waiting for my girlfriend; furthermore—being a woman—I genuinely had an urgent need to use the facilities. However, without any warning—and for absolutely no apparent reason—a female security guard and a male security guard suddenly barged into the restroom and, in a rough and forceful manner, ordered me to leave. The female security guard rudely shoved me, causing me physical pain and discomfort. (We hadn't done anything wrong whatsoever! I felt that I was treated with extreme disrespect and subjected to discrimination!) They had absolutely no legitimate grounds to eject me from the venue. The security staff here show absolutely no respect for customers and are even willing to resort to inappropriate physical violence. To be subjected to such treatment as a paying customer is simply shocking. The venue's management and security team have utterly failed to safeguard the basic rights and personal safety of their patrons. I also wish to take this opportunity to warn others to remain vigilant. I have been visiting Marquee for years, and this is the first time I have ever encountered a situation like this—it is absolutely preposterous!
From the moment we arrived at the door, the experience was a disaster. The tall bouncer tried to separate me from my fiancée for no reason other than to play the "tough guy" role. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Once inside, the staff continued to be rude, but the real issue was the environment. I’ve been to countless clubs and raves, but I’ve never seen a place packed like sardines like this. It is clear they are overselling tickets with zero regard for guest safety or occupancy limits. Between the overpriced drinks and the inability to even move, it’s not worth it. I wouldn't go back even if my favorite artist was playing. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its guests. Pacha can’t open soon enough.
Honestly, I was apprehensive after reading all the reviews but I went to see Benni Benassi last night and it was great! The line was short, the bouncers were actually nice, kind even. The coatcheck was super easy and $6 cashless experience not the other way around they have pads to track your items so you just enter your phone number. There was nothing about “counting down” bathroom time and the bathroom attendant was great (in my experience at least). Bar staff was quick and nice. Some people were decked out and looked amazing really dressed up, and some people were very casual t-shirt vibes depending on the groups. They didn’t seem to have any dress code so just wear whatever makes you comfortable. Now the dance floor, so this is post renovation, I never went to it before. At first glance yes it’s “small-ish” but only if you’re comparing to Brooklyn. Coming from San Francisco it’s pretty darn big. It’s still def a “bottle service” club with birthday etc but the private tables were on the side so there’s just a big open dance floor, it worked great. Yes people pushed through occasionally, like one dude knocked my drink out of my hand like 10 minutes in. (It was water so whatever) floor is sticky in places because of said shoving. There were a couple moments of being pretty tight but I could still move. There were forsure instagram peeps just filming themselves and the DJs or whatever but doesn’t bother me. I got there at midnight, first DJ was playing top 40 stuff but he had his own spin on them so it was quite good if you look past the sing along parts. (But those are also fun too) Now Benni came on like right at 1am he synced with the opener DJ so he just slid right in unnoticed at first. Then the main act began and was AMAZING! The crowd was vibing (although yes def a lot of bro non dance types but whatever just have your own groove). We mainly stayed in the back because more space and we felt comfortable enough. (Also getting older for me means I have no interest pushing to the front to see a dj’s turntables and knobs, why do people need to be up front? The visuals are all over like in my videos probably better further back because you can see it all). Benni played for 2 straight hours. After about 30-45mins the crowd thinned out, I think all the clout people left and the floor was left to the real people who came to see him. Age range was varied but a lot was 30s-40s which makes sense giving Benni’s demographic of older EDM folks like me! Overall I was super nervous it wasn’t gonna be a good time because of these reviews but it ended up being a perfect night. It’s just a normal club with great production, amazing sound and some top talent in the scene. (Note this could also be because everyone’s gone for thanksgiving / friendsgivings but who knows because it was def still sold out). I’d say just go experience it for yourself and make your own judgement, just be prepared for normal club stuff and you’ll have a great time. Also, this is the Marquee original: not the pop up skydeck parties. I know reviews can get confused about that but they are different locations. (The skydeck parties are also amazing but closed for the season) ***Pro-Tip: shaky videos because I’m using the meta glasses so that’s my POV while dancing. Those are great for shows because you can enjoy and film at the same time without thinking about your phone. Also they are just sunglasses if the lasers get too intense. It’s a win win (no I’m not a spokesperson or affiliate but I should be because I’m giving out the recs for free!)
An unforgettable experience at Marquee. Kino showed exceptional hospitality to me and my fiancé — truly next-level service. The staff was incredible, the energy was perfect, and the atmosphere was unmatched. Highly recommend!
Not too far from peen station, walking distance really, it's perfect for a late night in in nyc! We went for a corporate christmas party, the dj was great, there was a violinist, someone that played the drums, the food was delicious, the drinks, the vibe, beautiful nyc experience
