Recommended by Crown Shy for having a great view, instead of having to go to a view deck at a regular tourist attraction and that’s exactly what it was. Added bonus that the drinks and food weren’t just for show. The cornbread and chicken were a surprise and my favorite. Make a reservation. You have to wait a bit downstairs for the elevator and they can pack it in to make the trip count but not a bad wait.
The truth is I moved to New York City about a year and a half ago, and this place has been at the top of the bar list since I've been here. I've been wanting to go for quite a while, but the $70 fee that you must pay to secure a table has been a deterrent for me, just because I get scared whenever I have to put down a card for a table. That's a personal thing. My friend had a birthday and decided to invite us, and for me it's an automatic yes! I've been wanting to go here for a long time. It's always my goal to visit all the top bars in the city, so we made it happen. This place is super high up. It takes a while to get to. You have to go up an elevator, up stairs, up stairs, up stairs, and when you finally get there, it's small. It's not a huge place. The table we sat at was tiny. We had five people, but it was fine. We got some snacks. Nothing blew me away when it came to the food. It was good, but I've had much better fried chicken. Everything was crazy expensive. I mean, it's rooftop pricing, what do you expect? All drinks were just okay! The honest truth is that I didn't really love this place as much as I wanted to. I really wanted to love this place! I'm a sucker for a great bar and a great cocktail. Maybe I'd come back to sit at the bar. Maybe that's a different experience. I just didn't think it was anything special for me. I think I also went during the day time, and I think it's probably better for sunset or night time, and I acknowledge that. The views are amazing, but it was so windy I couldn't even be outside for 2 seconds! So meh, it's fine. I won't go back. Also, my fears about paying the fee were known. They had booked it for more people. They couldn't come, so we had to eat and drink their fair share. We all had a lot more drinks and food than we really would have had.
The best specialty cocktail bar in NYC hands down! Ordered their SDG, in the clouds, terroir old fashioned and maravilla cocktails. Courtney and Luis were gracious bartenders. The views, the music and the vibe are everything you’d want from a place. Grateful to have gotten the chance to visit.
Amazing views. Great service. Good cocktails. OK food. The food was fine but really needed a menu item that adds acid or bitterness, like salads. All the items were heavy.
One of my favorite cocktail experiences in NYC so far. I had 3 cocktails and they were all so beautifully balanced. Nothing was sweet, it was just subtle fruit notes which honestly is the ideal type of cocktail because you dont want it to over power the spirit. It was a really foggy day so I didnt get to quite see the amazing views but its a beautiful bar with great service. Highly recommend this spot if youre looking for swanky vibes, cool aesthetic and just really good cocktails. I got there a few minutes after opening and was able to squeeze in as 1 person. Id recommend reservations tho. The placed filled up quick and when I left there were people waiting
