Overall rating: 4.5 Have been wanting to check this place out for months & finally did over one of its Sundays. Admittedly, I also went to its drag wrestling match and strongly disliked it. So will likely not come back for any of its events. That said, as a studio itself - it’s very informative and easy to digest. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the founder’s studio next door. A sight to be seen & will be bringing my tourists’ friends back. Strongly recommend the studio.
This place is incredible! The space alone is an artist's dream to install in. The staff was friendly and the art was exciting. I got to see works by American Artist, Hprizm, Yehwan Song, and Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels. The space lends truly lends itself to interdisciplinary artists and encourages pushing the limits of what a studio practice can entail.
It is a really beautiful space. The venue has a really cool, historical factory look. I came at night to see Moritz Von Oswald, who is a pioneer in techno dub music. The place was packed, but everyone was very mellow, and the vibe was good. The acoustics were perfect. They had a bar outside with a fire pit to keep warm. All the staff were nice. I loved it.
One of the coolest venues for concerts I've been to in NYC. Spacious floor with lots of good views of the stage, and an awesome outdoor area to sit, drink, or smoke.
Greetings…attended the Meshell Ndegeocello featuring Justin Hicks event on 3/29. It was a Sunday evening and vibrations were irie! The space is amazing, I would say the out side area is my favorite out of it all. If you’re thinking about visiting or having an event here please do so. Amazing and beautiful. Upon entering, my sister and I were greeted warmly by the door staff and guided towards the line/check in area. There was a line roped for members, another line doubled roped for nonmembers but there were two persons behind computers to assist. A couple was ahead of me, I noticed how they stepped up to the counter and was being helped. So now, the other staff member(a young Asian woman) didn’t greet or attempt to assist and I was still patiently waiting in line. It took one of the gentleman who received us at the door to get her to acknowledge my presence. He was further away than I was, he approached, waved and pointed to me. I’m 6 feet, how could you miss me?! Talk about not being present. It was rude and disrespectful! I’m sure staff selection and training are held to certain standard. After this encounter, I had an awesome experience and would love to again in the future. Did I mention it’s by the water? Lovely!!
