Skip the overpriced and overhyped Katz’s. For half the price you get a delicious thick cut pastrami on rye. The rye is soft yet holds together. It is exceptionally good. The restaurant is narrow with a long counter for solo guest and a modest wait for table service. Everyone was friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in all of NYC. The best time to get is right after they open on a weekday morning. Grab a seat at the counter and eat up. Absorb the vibes of one of the OGs of the NYC diner scene. The Shonda sandwich (pastrami, egg, green tomatoes, mustard) and corned beef hash are excellent. I only order the rye bread, which is (literally) the best I've ever had and delivered fresh from a top-notch bakery in NJ every morning. Service is always prompt and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.

Great spot for a late lunch, we arrived shortly before closing without realising but staff were able to accommodate us. Delicious food, great atmosphere and enjoyed the 60s music selection. Thought meal was good value.

S&P Lunch has taken over the Eisenberg Sandwich Shop. Same location, same menu, same low key luncheonette ambience. The counter upfront with small dining room in the back. Friendly, quick service. Go early or go late otherwise you"ll have a wait. Cheeseburger with a side of fries. The perfect no fuss lunch. It's nice that some things don't change.

An old school feeling diner with a simple menu of breakfast classics and sandwiches. I had a pretty solid western omelette, my friend said the turkey reuben was fantastic and we both loved the light and fluffy pancakes.
