I didn't have to wait too long in line to listen to the Jam session- guy at the Door was easy going and very attentive. This club showed only respectable, curteous and professional treament to its guest. Every song was a good surpise and Marc Devine was very sweet to everyone who had a question or just wanted to shake his hand. I got to listen to great musicians tonight including Mark capon, Jeff Mcgreggor & Greg Ruggiero. I am surely missing more but i don't remember all the names announced, ill post pics.

Smalls Jazz Club is the ultimate intimate jazz experience in Greenwich Village. Down a narrow staircase into a cozy basement, the vibe instantly feels authentic and timeless — exactly what you imagine classic NYC jazz to be. The music here is phenomenal, with talented musicians up close and personal, and the atmosphere makes you feel like part of the show rather than just a spectator. Drinks are solid and the crowd really listens, creating a special energy you won’t find in bigger venues. Perfect for jazz lovers or anyone looking for a memorable night out.

We didn't order any food. We only ordered some drinks (min. one drink order is required for one person). I personally think some of the drinks were kinda overpriced (a cup of tea and a bottle of water cost $6 each), but I guess it's mainly for the experience. We were there for a Danny Tobias Trio performance, and it was nothing short of excellence. Overall it was a great experience. We spent around $140 for 2 tickets, 3 cocktails & 1 tea + tipping.

It was our first time at Smalls and we absolutely loved it. We saw the Greg Abate Quartet at the 7:30 show and arrived around 7pm for seating, which is first come, first served. We sat at the bar instead of the chairs set up in rows and I’d highly recommend that. The space is intimate and no-frills in the best way. It feels like you’re in on something—a true basement jazz club where you’re right on top of the musicians. You could tell everyone was there to genuinely enjoy really good jazz. There’s a one-item minimum per show. I had a Negroni and an espresso martini and both exceeded expectations for a venue like this. Highly recommend for locals looking for an intimate jazz experience. Great date night spot.

Wanted to see a show with our 18 year old. Happy this is an all ages venue. Great location, cool vibe and the music ahhhhh so so good! A little tight in there but they make it work! Servers were great and prompt. Will absolutely come to another show here!
