It’s all so good. Not one bad dish ordered. We got the bacon, clams (omg) and the Caesar as apps. We all got our own steaks for the mains and shared spinach, mashed potatoes, and fingerling potatoes as sides. Everything was delish. Standouts were the butchers steak, mashed potatoes, clams, and spinach. The cheesecake and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert were ridiculously good. The vibes are also amazing. We went in a group of 7 and it was great.
This place deserves all the praise. I love a good grill spot and everything off the grill here is pure bliss. Loved the clams and prawn, and the ax handle steak is in a category of its own. Chicken is phenomenal and reminds me that you should never rule it out. Desserts are decent but more to round off the meal. Great wine list to pair with everything too.
Ohhh this meal was divine from start to finish!! When we arrived around 8:30pm on a Wednesday without a reservation, it was a little busy and it looked like we were going to have to wait a while; but fortune was on our side and they were very sweet to fit us in quite promptly. I'm really grateful because if we had to wait we would have gone to another location and I would have missed out on this delicious meal! So get a reservation if you definitely want to try but don't wanna risk a wait. The decor was very detailed and warm and timeless; really made you feel transported to another time and place with its history and detail. The server was very informative and helpful with the menu, and everything we tried was delicious. The self-made seltzer is a very cute element, definitely fun for the table. The Denver cut of steak was great, I loved the saucy fingerling potatoes and shishito peppers, and an affogato to finish it off was just divine! Would absolutely come back.
This rustic, cozy restaurant presents a good atmosphere for a date night. The menu was simple with different cuts of meat and some seafood options. The butchers steak (price $34) was perfect medium rare and decently flavorful on its own but the portion size was underwhelming for me. The king Salmon steak tasted good and the portion size was surprisingly large (a good thing in my opinion for the price $42). The sides were decent and the portion size is plenty for 1-2. Overall the service was decent, food took a little long to come out but it was worth the wait. Parking is limited to the street, I would recommend taking an Uber/Lyft or public transportation here. Don't expect to get a table walking in due to the limited seating.
Elijah's birthday dinner was at St. Anselm. Joe Carroll, the owner, was AMAZING. He took such good care of us. Everything was so delicious. He made excellent wine recommendations for dinner based on our palettes. We will definitely go back! And, Joe, let us know the next time you're in Nashville to play at the Exit Inn, and we will come and listen!
