Simply delicious. As you can guess from the name, the menu revolves completely around meat. The restaurant is seating at the back of a shop. Products are fresh and well prepared. Menu is kept simple, with three side dishes you can have on free flow. Meat was cooked to perfection and the plates flavorful. Staff is nice and friendly. Seatings available inside. Booking recommended.
A true French dining experience - steak in the back of a refund butcher shop. When we arrived locals were lined up to buy meat. The food was very good and comes with an excellent salad, frites and mashed potatoes. A good selection of wines makes for a perfect experience. . Highly recommend.
Not too far away from the Oberkampf metro stop up a side street I think I've found a true hidden gem. When you enter you are in the butcher shop portion of the building ( restaurant is in behind ). Tight squeeze around the counter and you are in the resto Surprisingly spacious inside. Lovely service simple concept. Choose your meat ( pork chicken lamb and beef in various cuts ) accompanied with the best frites i had in Paris and sautéed veggies Had the ribeye amazing. Lots of options for apps. Best lunch ever. Shout out to our server.
A great experience-a butcher who serves their meat in a tiny seating area in the back. Great beef, aged (chicken, pork available too). You literally choose your cut. Served with salad, fries, wine -including by the glass. Our "rare" beef was cooked perfectly. Charcuterie was not salty or dry. That's pretty much it-you are here for meat. Many restaurants in Paris are tiny, but this place in particular. The single waiter was literally running at times. But, otherwise, a great experience and highly recommended.
Unique Setting but Mixed Dining Experience We came here on the recommendation of a local Parisian, and the setup is certainly unique with a traditional butchery at the front of the shop, and a cozy restaurant tucked away in the back. Reservations are required (easy to make on their website), and do note there are different (at least two) branches in Paris, so make sure you book the right one. The restaurant itself is quite small, with seating a little crowded, but not unusual for Europe. Unfortunately, the night we visited was very hot, and although there was an air conditioner, it struggled to cool the space. Sitting through the meal sweating and uncomfortably warm didn’t help the experience. We started with the bone marrow, which was excellent. For mains, we shared the trio of tartare and a steak. The tartare was good, but not quite as exceptional as I had expected from such a reputable butchery. The steak, cooked medium-rare, was disappointingly tough and lacking the tenderness you would expect from a specialist meat restaurant (especially since we asked for tender above flavour). Overall, it was an interesting experience, and I appreciated the unusual concept of dining behind a butcher’s counter. That said, given the quality of the dishes, we’re unlikely to return, as I think you can find better value and quality elsewhere in Paris.
