One of the most amazing historical places that you can visit, it sheds the light on the importance of what Napoleon achieved to France, the statues and the monuments are great but to see the tomb of one of the most important leaders in history is something not to miss if you ever go to Paris. I recommend buying a ticket online to prevent waiting in the queue, and I highly recommend going there to everyone who has a passion for history and architecture.
Les Invalides is an absolutely stunning historical site in Paris. The architecture is grand and beautifully preserved, with its iconic golden dome shining brilliantly under the sun. The complex houses several museums, including the Army Museum, which offers a fascinating insight into French military history. One of the highlights is Napoleon Bonaparte’s tomb, which is both impressive and humbling to see in person. The atmosphere is calm and respectful, making it a meaningful place to visit. The grounds are spacious and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing walk while appreciating the historical significance of the site. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply exploring Paris, Les Invalides is definitely worth a visit.
Visiting Les Invalides was an exceptional experience and truly one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. The entire complex is enormous, impeccably clean, and incredibly imposing, creating a sense of awe from the moment you step inside. Seeing the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte in person was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Standing there, surrounded by such grandeur and history, is something I will never forget. The atmosphere is both solemn and inspiring, perfectly reflecting the importance of the figure it honors. It’s clear that the French know how to pay tribute to the great personalities of their history in the most fitting way. Les Invalides is not just a museum or a monument—it’s a powerful symbol of respect, heritage, and national pride. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Paris.
I feel that whatever I put in this review won't do it justice as it was a find I wasn't expecting however I would recommend anyone to see it. Great value for money @ €17 per adult I found it fascinating, interesting and moving all at the same time Napoleons tomb is a sight in itself and as for the building itself......wow. My one criticism of it is that not all the exhibits had the international language of English translations next to them. However I wasn't put off by this so don't let it put you off
Visited there during la nuit musée for free. Was much much much bigger than I thought. Spent 3 hours there but still couldn’t visited everything and didn’t have time to read / stay long to obtain all the information. There were many rabbits on the gardens, they seemed very chilled and happy and couldn’t stop looking at them. We visited the museum and Napoleon tombs….Was very impressive. But the signs were abit confusing when we tried to look for the extraordinary objects. However, in general it was a massive venue, lots to see and learn
