One of Le Corbusier's early works that had fallen into disrepair but has since been restored to its current museum quality. Well worth the visit.
Villa Savoye is an exceptional building and a place that every architect or architecture enthusiast should visit. Experiencing Le Corbusier’s work in person allows you to truly understand its clarity, importance, and architectural value. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, it is a remarkable place with outstanding architectural significance and excellent hospitality.
Though I studied architecture & architectural history many years ago I certainly couldn’t forget Villa Savoye. If you have any interest in architecture or modern art it is worth a detour which we took on the way to the Loire Valley. Unlike many buildings—Villa Savoye looks better in person than in photographs. JUT DO IT and stop here!!
After architecture school, Le Corbusier's iconic home has always been on my list, and to finally get to visit her was surreal. To be honest, none of the photo's I've seen of it do it any justice compared to entering it and feeling its spaces in real life. You nailed this one Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris.
Villa Savoye is a masterpiece of modern architecture. Designed by Le Corbusier, it perfectly embodies his vision of functional beauty and minimalism. The clean lines, open floor plan, and integration with nature are truly inspiring. It's a must-visit for architecture lovers. The staff was welcoming, and the information provided about the villa's history was insightful. Highly recommend!
