My husband and I were visiting Taiwan from the states, and wanted to try authentic local foods. Lu Rou Fan was one of them. We found this authentic local authentic restaurant (eat is is on the 2nd floor), and had Lu Rou Fan, some dry noodle with pork, and steamed Chinese cabbage. They were all delicious and we enjoyed the very local atmosphere. We didn't know they don't serve any drinks (thus three stars but we still enjoyed the experience!) so I ran to a Seven Eleven around the corner to get some drinks. By the time I got back foods were already served! Staff was kind to help us figure out their systems and menu. As tourists who do not speak or read Mandarin, we 100% enjoyed the food and experiences.

The food here is great. I ordered a full spread including the braised pork rice, noodles, pork belly, and veggies. The sauce is perfectly savory and not too sweet. The Pork Belly (Kong Rou) was a highlight-super tender. Note: The dining area is small and seating is limited, so it can feel a bit cramped. Best to go during off-peak hours if you can!

My mother and I absolutely chowed down. Delicious, perfect portion size, everything perfectly seasoned. We cleared all our bowls and plates. Service was excellent, we got our food very quickly. Everything was also very cheap. 10/10

To be honest, this one wasn't that good. I'd rank the overall quality as below average; it was nothing special flavor-wise. The only real positives were the quick service and the low price point. If you're looking strictly for fast, cheap, filler food, it might suffice. However, if you're seeking a genuinely satisfying or memorable meal, I wouldn't recommend it.

If you’re not too focused on décor or fancy interiors, this little rice shop is honestly perfect. The portions aren’t huge, but they’re just right — enough to feel satisfied without being overly full. Our group of four ate comfortably, and everyone felt it was “just the right amount.” One thing I always look at to judge whether a restaurant is truly clean is the restroom and the staff. Here, both gave me a very good impression. Everything felt balanced and properly maintained — not trying too hard, but definitely enough to feel clean, reliable, and welcoming. It’s not the kind of place that’s exceptionally outstanding, yet in its own way, it is outstanding — in a simple, honest, and just-right kind of way.
