A truly marvellous experience. Everything about it was wonderful: the food, the ambience, the interior design, the service — even the bathrooms were fantastic. We went for my birthday and they made the whole experience feel really, really special. Huge props to the team.
On my trip to Hong Kong and Taiwan, the most memorable dining experience and the one that clearly deserves two to three Michelin stars. The blend of different cuisine styles and textures of the ingredients, plus the wood/nature element infused in the decor and food just is *chefs kiss". Come to this when you have the time and money as it's out of the way from the city. Also I love that they put perfumes and colognes in the restrooms for both men and women.
Logy is a masterclass in contemporary dining—intimate, sophisticated, and driven by a deep respect for seasonal Taiwanese ingredients. The décor strikes the perfect balance between minimalism and warmth, creating an atmosphere where each dish feels like it belongs in a curated gallery of flavor and craft. From the moment service begins, the entire experience feels personal and thoughtfully choreographed. The creativity and precision behind every plate make Logy truly exceptional, but the standout was undeniably the eel course—cooked to perfection with layers of flavor that reveal themselves with every bite. It demonstrates the kitchen’s bold vision and technical finesse, elevating a familiar ingredient into something transcendent. With impeccable service, inspired culinary storytelling, and unforgettable dishes, Logy earns every one of its Michelin stars and deserves a spot at the top of any food lover’s Taipei itinerary.
TLDR: Logy is an impressive and delectable dining experience. They more than earn their 2 stars, and if they were in a city like San Francisco they might have 3. The tasting menu is extremely well priced, and the service is top notch, making this a must for visitors to Taipei. Upon entering Logy, I was impressed by the contrast between the discreet small logo and hushed entryway and the cozy, expansive dining room. The lighting is soft, the design is impeccable. This extends to all of their plates and flatware as well. Everything seems well considered and thoughtful. The food is outstanding. I greatly enjoyed the amuse bouche courses of caviar canele, scallop topped with mullet roe floss, and a silky homemade tofu. Logy does an amazing job balancing strong flavors and making distinctive sauces. One dish that exemplifies this is the black truffle topped mackerel dumping, which sits in a miso-Gorgonzola sauce. You would think it would be too much umami with all of these flavors. In reality, they balance perfectly, and each bite yields each component’s contributing flavor. The abalone and fungus dish is also just perfect: the broth is deep, umami, and tangy. Logy also prepares meat exceptionally well. The tempura eel dish is lightly fried, yet maintains its crisp despite swimming in a tasty broth with many aromatic herbs. The duck dish is absolutely stunning, potentially the best prepared duck I have ever had in my life. We didn’t do the wine pairing, but probably should have as it looked really good and we ended up spending the same amount on individual glasses. So something to look forward to if we get the chance to come back.
The food at Logy's new Taipei location is absolutely amazing—true culinary artistry. While the overall experience is top-tier, the service felt slightly unfamiliar and perhaps tentative, likely due to the recent move. Still, Chef Tahara's fusion cuisine is a must-try for any serious gourmand.
