I spent some time wandering through Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and it turned out to be a really refreshing change from the usual city spots. The whole area has a creative and laid back vibe that makes it easy to slow down and just explore. What stood out to me was the mix of old and new. The park is built around former industrial buildings, and instead of replacing them, they have been repurposed into galleries, shops, and exhibition spaces. It gives the place a lot of character, and you can feel a bit of history while still enjoying something modern. There are different sections to walk through, and each one feels slightly different. Some areas focus more on art and exhibitions, while others have small boutiques, cafés, and design stores. It is not a place you rush through, it is better to take your time and see what catches your interest. I also liked how open and green the space is. There are quiet corners, trees, and open areas where you can sit and relax, which makes it feel less crowded compared to the busy streets nearby. It is a nice balance between a park and a cultural space. Depending on when you visit, there might be events, pop up exhibitions, or markets happening, which adds even more variety to the experience. Overall, I think this is a great spot if you want something a bit different in Taipei. It is not about big attractions, but more about creativity, atmosphere, and just enjoying a slower pace for a while.

Solid spot to spend a few hours in Taipei. Former industrial site turned into a creative space — clean layout, interesting mix of galleries, shops, and open areas. Not overly touristy or flashy. Good for a walk, grabbing coffee, or just taking it slow. Weekends are especially worth it — they often run markets and events that make the place feel more alive. Easy recommendation if you want something a bit different from the usual city attractions.

They have really cool exhibitions (including local arts and designs) in the creative park, which was once a cigarette factory. The baroque garden is a nice a place to chill

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is a beautifully transformed space that blends Taipei’s history with modern creativity. Originally a tobacco factory built during the Japanese era, the preserved industrial buildings now house art exhibitions, design studios, cafés, and creative shops. You can still feel its past while walking through the spacious grounds, which adds depth and character to the experience. There’s always something happening, from exhibitions to weekend markets, yet the park never feels rushed. A great place to stroll, relax, and appreciate how history has been thoughtfully reimagined into a vibrant cultural hub. This Is Not a Library is definitely interesting! Was an old bathhouse turned library.
