Wrocław history exhibits housed in the former palace, with recreated royal apartments & a garden.via Google

Useful for the city’s own story, especially if you want context for how Wrocław changed across centuries and after 1945.

Went on a Thursday and so unexpectedly, and pleasantly, didn’t have to pay. Overall a well curated and clear run through a 1000 years of Wroclaw history. Good basic explanation (in Polish, German and English) for each room with a small but relevant set of exhibits. Some of the explanations are a bit ‘clunky’ - but the overall experience is great and gives you a real insight into the history and development of a big metro area (third biggest city in Poland by population). Thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic, history lovers and museum goers will love the layout of the old arsenal that's been converted into a museum. Iron age, medieval, up to modern day military, really well laid out and worth a visit for the equivalent of £3

The City Museum of Wrocław is a wonderful place to dive into the rich history and culture of the city. Its exhibits cover a wide range of topics, from medieval times to modern Wrocław, giving visitors a real sense of how the city has evolved over centuries. The displays are thoughtfully arranged and engaging, and the museum does a great job of combining artifacts, multimedia, and stories to bring history to life. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just curious about Wrocław, this museum is both educational and enjoyable — a perfect stop to understand the heart of the city.
