A charming place any time of year. A venue for festivals, concerts, fairs, and local gatherings. It's a historic site rich in symbolism on the facades of old tenement houses. During my visit with a group of Spanish tourists, a Christmas market was taking place in the market square. Crowds of tourists and locals gathered to celebrate the holidays together. I highly recommend it!
This is more a review of Wroclaw Town centre itself rather than just the Old Town Hall which I sadly did not enter. However, judging from its impressive exterior I'm sure that the Interior would have been equally stunning. There are many interesting buildings and statues dotted around Wroclaw, and indeed one cannot go very far without encountering its many dwarves. Apparently there over 1000 of these tiny statues located around various parts of the city, but most are located in and around the town centre. Sadly I was hoping to go on one of the motorised dwarf trails, but they don't seem to operate early in the season. In this case early March. However, you can still locate them on foot, just make sure you've got a good pair of walking shoes on! Around the market Square, where the Old Town Hall is, there are various shops, restaurants and beer kellers as well as rows of picturesque buildings. I wasn't sure if the beer kellers were shut just in the daytime or closed due to the earliness of the season. Located close by is the University. This costs around 50 ZLT's to enter(around £10) and one can get a panoramic view of the city from the tower in top. The Church of St Mary Magdelene is akso worth a visit. This is free to enter, as is the tower, but you can leave a donation to the church if you wish. Spoiler alert-dwarves are located on the top spire. The town centre is surrounded by a moat which adds to its interest value. In all, Wroclaw is a nice place to visit and I would definitely come here again, if only to add to my dwarf picture collection.
What an amazing and vibrant place, full of color, history and tradition and a great place to walk around and experience everything the city has to offer. The buildings are so pretty and there are so many shopping and food options. Don't leave without tasting a chimney cake or having some pierogis at a local spot and of course don't forget about the little gnomes all over town!
This is a piece of Beautiful and advanced architecture from the Medieval times. If you like history, architecture and culture, the market square of Wroclaw is a dream come true.
The Old Town Hall in Wrocław is a true walk through history. Built between the 13th and 16th century, its stunning Gothic architecture, clock tower, and ornate details make it one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. A must-see for anyone exploring Wrocław!
