We took our (foodie) six year old and all of us had the tasting menu. It was fabulous - the food was beautifully presented, the wine pairing was magnificent (the six year old did not have that) and the staff were unrivalled in their knowledge. The cheese trolley was amazing. Atmosphere should have been 5 stars but we were there a little early on a Friday (again, blame the 6 year old) - it deserves 5 stars. The food is only marginally marked down from being absolutely great by a couple of very minor points. The beef could have done with 30 seconds less searing (it was tougher than it needed to be, but only marginally). The stone fish cluld have done with 15 seconds more. Some of the flavours when put together were a bit overwhelming. But these are tiny tiny complaints against a wonderful evening, fantastic food, amazing wine, and a brilliant experience.

One of our top two dining experiences of the last 5 years. Absolutely excellent - incredible food and wonderful service. The staff are knowledgeable on food - and also authentic good people. Loved it.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in York! We visited with friends on Friday evening. We were offered seats at the bar but opted to go straight to our table. The seats are really comfortable- a novelty these days, but perhaps that says more about my aging bones! Drinks were quickly sorted and canapés arrived shortly after - 3 each, all lovely! We went for the a la carte option, although the tasting menu sounded great! An amuse bouche of “cheesy chips” was next whilst the boys discussed wines with Johnny….a real enthusiast for his job (who wouldn’t be) but none of the pomp and snobbery that often goes with Sommeliers. If you’re open minded about what you have he’s the guy to encourage you to try something new - and I can only guess that he rarely gets it wrong! Without meaning to underplay the food, I’ll let the pics speak for themselves. Each dish is carefully curated by Adam and his team and they all hit the spot. The cheese trolley is a piece of art and the crackers and accompaniments an absolute delight! I cannot speak highly enough of the whole team. An absolutely fab night that we can’t wait to repeat soon. Amazing job Team Arras ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a very enjoyable evening here. Good cocktails, we had the coffee based ones. The food was beautifully cooked and presented with imaginative combinations that worked well. Fine dining options for vegetarians. Friendly and attentive service. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Extensive wine list, with plenty of wines by the glass. Save room for the very superior cheese board!
