Stuffed animal heads line the walls of this quirky medieval bar serving hard-to-find Belgian beers.via Google

A tiny, medieval drinking hall packed with taxidermy, heavy wooden beams, and an incredible craft beer list.

Great speakeasy hidden on Stonegate through what looks like a liqueur store. Features wonky walls and one of the best toilets I've ever walked into. Good selection of real ales, ciders, IPA's and meads along with spirits and liqueurs. You can buy drinks downstairs to have upstairs. It is often busy but not crammed from our visits so far

Such an amazing place, I absolutely loved it! The beer collection is incredible, with so many great options to choose from, and the whole place is filled with unique collections and quirky details that make it really fun to explore while you’re there. The atmosphere is lively and cosy at the same time, and it feels like a proper York experience. Definitely a must-visit if you enjoy good drinks and places with character.

Great afternoon had , nice sharing platters we had two between the three of us, could do with the beer menu being a bit more in-depth also we noticed that some one had a sample of beers but we didn't see this advertised and the bar was very busy so didn't like to ask as the guys behind the bar was so busy

Cozy ale house on top of a beer shop with a fantastic selection of quality beers and spirits. The food menu is good, honest food without faff but it delivers a range of flavours from meat platters to beer & cheese soup, and even a 1lb pie! Always a good variety of different beers on tap/cask and a well stocked fridge. All drinks from downstairs can be taken upstairs and drank with your food too.
